ekrfc87 6
Having just watched the Telekom cup live on BT sport, is it something we are missing a trick with? 4 teams, teams 1 and 2 playing each other also 3 and 4. 45 minute games. 2 winner play each other in final and both losers in 3rd place play off. Meaning 90 mins for the players. Potential to use 4 local teams? Rangers, St Mirren, Hamilton and Partick Thistle. Rotate the venue each season and can be used as a fun day so to speak with all 4 sets of fans in the one stadium. Extra cash and great day out. Pie in the sky stuff for Scotland? ekrfc87 6
Don't want they cunts in our stadium unless it's necessary. This is the problem we should be thinking of ways to boost our income. If other get a cut then fine. 100 percent of nothing is just that and it give the kids a great day out with a chance to see some of the youth that perhaps isn't seen by all throughout the season. Pie in the sky stuff for Scotland?Used to be all sorts of tournaments in the past, Texaco cup, Charity Cup, Spring Cup. Used to be an event at the Show Park in EK, Think it was seven a side tournament with senior clubs and juniors. Games become to partisan for that now. We Will Follow Rangers 13,405
Forge good links with the football academies down south and invite their development squads to Ibrox for a tournie.See some right good up and coming players challenge and develop our young players and get first dibs on any quality loans. You can scout all round the world but the amount cash and resources put into the English academies and the talent they are churning out needs to be tapped into. Make it into perhaps a under 21 tournament with say 3 over 21 players allowed to attract the fans?

Make it into perhaps a under 21 tournament with say 3 over 21 players allowed to attract the fans?Think the focus should be entirely on the development of our younger players tbh, would like to see along side said tournie a reciprocal arrangement where our young players would train at other academies and vise versa. Similar to what we did at Spurs. Our manager has the expertise and the contacts to set this up, think theres a real chance we'll see something like this.An annual prestige development squad tourney featuring sides from the top academies in Europe would attract plenty of interest. Kai_Johansen 978
I always thought that a 7's style tournament similar to the rugby 7's would be a great idea. Worked great at Ibrox during the CWG, 15 mins per game, possibly 16 teams competing over Friday night, Saturday and Sunday.Don't know who or if any club/ teams would be willing to take part, would certainly get the fitness levels up for the start of the season! MasterD 7,464
Sounds great, especially with they teams.Don't know about anyone else but I don't think we play enough games against teams like that through-out a season.
bluenose1975 1,287
I'd go and watch it but only if it was the rangers ladies team and my stipulation would be they had to be naked, sounds like a winner to me

Prso's headband 36,858
Should be glamour Euro clubs IMO. Ibrox Cup or something. Rangers AC Milan Hamburg etc etc. Id enjoy an emirates cup kinda thing again. Against decent sides and a decent trip for the fans as well! ekrfc87 6
I don't think this should be our main pre season these glamour matches against ac Milan etc are for pulling the money in and giving the fans something to enjoy but I mean this as an early pre season before we go off to play our 'big' games. Play the youth, good time of year for great weather and family fun day. The local teams might not be exciting but at a low price point it's an enjoyable day for the kids. They don't care about us getting hammered off a European elite team.
