MasterD 7,457
I think McCall would still have the job if he had got us promoted last season. He was never getting the job full time.We were already speaking to other people on the basis of being promoted. The board were looking for someone to help rebuild not just a team but a football club. He'd have been a very last resort if no-one else wanted the job.
coop_loyal 140
Caretaker managers are employed by the club and have a senior role, when the manager is sacked or left normally it's the coach or assistant that becomes caretakerThat's the way I've always understood it Maybe I'm wrong

A Gallant Pioneer 555
A dud who will never ever get over that 2 legged horsing by Motherwell and will forever be known as a failure in management. "At least he tried" is the same type of glorious failure pish the tartan trannies are slaughtered for. I'm sure we would all have tried. Fans really should separate the player from the man.
