Cam1872 251
Anyone who watched/attended today's game able to give some opinions on how we looked? Particularly at the back...Senderos look like he should play against them next week? Apologies if this ends up a duplication but other threads I read including highlights didn't seem focused on player performances..
there'sonlyoneamoruso 1,724
Yes, he was solid and didn't look unfit or slow. Very assured performance from him and I thought we looked a bit shaky when Hill replaced him.
Deanzmeanzheinz 4,312
For fitness and sharpness it will have done no harm but the difference in standard between today and next week is night and day. You simply cannot read anything from today and apply it to next week. The team will be selected on how Warburton wants to set out and how they perform in training next week. Tam Müller 340
Anybody else puzzled at Gilks getting the full 90? Surely if it was just a bit of game time to appease him Wes would have got 45 mins. Not taking it away from Gilks however but just thought if Wes is to start next week we'd want him as sharp as possible.

For example, for a winger to stay sharp and at the top of their game they may need to play week in week out barring the odd cup game whereas a keeper only needs to play once every so often and have good training sessions to accomplish this. True, but regardless of the opposition its always good to record a handsome victory with last seasons style, rather than the first four struggling for form games this season, the feelgood factor is seriously underrated. His performance should earn him a place on the bench at least imo. He isn't match fit though. I'd love it if he came on as a sub and scored a peach of a goal to kill the filth off. He is more than capable of it. MW has a habit of subbing him on around 60 mins too. Fingers crossed.
