the goal machine 7,810
West Brom striker John Hartson has been released from his contract at The Hawthorns. Hartson joined the Baggies on a two-year deal from Celtic in June 2006, however the Welshman has struggled to secure a place in manager Tony Mowbray's first-team. The 32-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at West Brom, who currently top the Championship table, following the impressive form of Kevin Phillips. Hartson, who spent one month on loan at Norwich earlier this season, has not featured in Mowbray's squad since the 1-0 home win over Cardiff on 20th February 2007. And Mowbray has now opted to release the former Wales international, who scored six goals in 24 appearances for the Baggies. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12875_3092535,00.html
