The avatars are hateful though, in my opinion. Although I have managed to make a pretty sweet Hitler, much better than any of the 100 or so I have in my Mii Parade. So you end up with friend of a friend's mother's Miis and stuff. I'm not joking when I say I must have three dozen variations of Hitler on there. It's a Fourth Reich on my Wii. Seeing everyone's Hitlers lined up along the friends part of NXE is amazing. Virtual parties, i mean come on who actually does that? It means you can get together with a bunch of friends and go from Bomberman, to Halo, to COD4, to Forza, to FIFA or whatever while all being in the same games etc. It's brilliant, I haven't actually tried it out yet though.
