  1. People criticising the SPFL are being unfair in suggesting they’ve mishandled this mess. In fact they’ve just unveiled the specific measure taken to increase the probability of the new date going ahead…
  2. Still think they might have jumped the gun, played on worse.
  3. Would you? ”Hello, SKY here” ”This is Dundee FC wondering if you want to cover the rearranged Rangers game?”
  4. Not to mention two nights for umpteen rooms at The Old Course Hotel and four hours (twice) in buses instead of resting, physio or training. Completely unacceptable.
  5. The stadium and, more importantly, the pitch have been neglected because they want to move to Camperdown. The money that any responsible team spends on pitch maintenance has presumably been spent on players giving Dundee an unfair advantage. Such behaviour must surely be a breach of the rules. Five postponements so far and, let’s be honest, the Motherwell game should have been six. Next week could easily be seven. SPFL well within their rights to award the points to their greatly inconvenienced opponents.
  6. “Informed both clubs by email…” Dundee? Email? The SPFL taking the piss? ”Still nothing from the SPFL, hen?” ”Just checked inbox, boss. Nothing although theres a good deal here on viagra…”
  7. If someone scores and does a knee slide, they’ll end up in Carnoustie
  8. …which is exactly as forecast. If it’s raining at 2pm and it looks like staying on, the only responsible thing to do is call it off.
  9. The reason that a minimum standard of stadium was established for entry into the top tier was to prevent clubs neglecting their grounds and using every penny on wages to improve their team. In Dundee’s case, it’s not structural failings but the playing surface. Basically the whole surface needs lifted, proper drainage installed (under soil heating probably a luxury too far) and then relaid with professional maintenance to keep it playable (as a minimum) except in biblical weather. They've obviously spent heehaw on the surface with the money presumably spent on playing staff. For that reason, they should be getting hammered by the SPFL.
  10. Because it smacks of “think of a number and double it” playground organisation. ”Right, make it ah’m sellik and you’re Rangers…”
  11. All very well saying play it on the 16/17th but what if rain persists and the pitch is still like a re-enactment of The Somme? And SKY will be pretty unimpressed if they need to provide filler for yet another match planned in their schedule that has gone tits up? We’ll be even more of a laughing stock the next time the contract needs renewed.
  12. Did so well against a squad assembled by MON for 30m+. And he was having to replace real talent with journeymen as we downsized. And don’t forget his movie career… Wee cameo in Stan And Ollie Great Rangers man
  13. You can’t get insurance against you yourself committing a criminal act. Had the disgusting excuse for a club suffered loss because of a criminal act by a third party, then such a loss might be covered. But, in a situation where the crimes were committed by umpteen of the club’s staff and/or representatives (eg coaches, scouts), then no policy will pick up the tab for that.
  14. Not the same passage of play. That ended when Sima’s shot was blocked.
  15. Not VAR fitted. An even better reason to use it imo but SPFL don’t see it that way
  16. Ironically, failing health might make someone like Gordon Woods even less likely to settle as the opportunity to spend his remaining years with a few quid in his pocket may be denied him. Of course, the cynical procrastination (in the hope that victims would continue dying or committing suicide) has been integral to scum strategy for years. The ‘lowest of the low’ to describe them just seems so inadequate. 😞
  17. As I understand it, the news of settlements dragged out of Separate Entity FC is based on a “class action” style sample of around twenty victims. I seem to recall the solicitor involved quoting hundreds having come forward so I’m assuming that this first group are effectively a test case? We've long suspected that the reason behind stockpiling money in the bank was because they knew that, one day, justice would catch up with them. It also seems that the compensation will be on a case by case basis as opposed to one size fits all. I can’t imagine they’ll part with a penny if the victim refuses to sign a Non Disclosure Agreement so those wanting their day in court will have even more to endure. As ever, the media coverage is minimal given the scale of the atrocities committed and every journalist of any worth should be ashamed for not screaming about this story from the rooftops. Their cowardice is indefensible.
  18. Any Tayside bears on PitchWatch with updates on likelihood of this game going ahead? Pishing down here and the forecast for Dundee is much the same. Pitch was shocking against Motherwell and it won’t be improving in a monsoon.
  19. Two things for me from that. Firstly, for Dessers goal, we’re talking seventy yards and fifteen seconds between incidents and that’s a lifetime in a game like this. If Sima scores direct from his first attempt, I can have some sympathy with dragging the game back but, when the ball is blocked and comes back to him, that’s another phase of play imo. So the decision to rule it out is wrong. Secondly, Vickers kicking the ball away at a Rangers free kick is a yellow. It is that simple, first minute or ninetieth minute. If that puts him under pressure for the rest of the game, that is his own fault. Other than these two decisions, I thought Beaton had a good game. And I would suggest that Sky send this clip to the Glitterdome as they clearly can’t understand any decision that goes against them.
  20. https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1412818278/Rangers-custom-printed-football-flag These guys seem to make them to order so you can add whichever badges, words, images your old man wants and place them wherever you want them on the flag. 👍
  21. He kicks Silva’s knee. In what context does kicking an opponent’s knee become a non-foul? Silva was an embarrassment at times and he was diving whether the mutant lab experiment kicked him or not. However none of that matters in the slightest. Kick an opponent’s knee in the box and you concede a penalty. Yes, even if you are a Sellik player.
  22. Complaint sent to BBC this morning over Stewart’s conduct. Haven't set hopes too high. Will let you know their response.
