AlBear. 8,499
http://majorcadailybulletin.com/news/local/2016/01/04/42525/sarver-acquires-real-mallorca.html Quote Robert Sarver, owner of the Phoenix Suns NBA basketball franchise, yesterday (Monday) acquired a majority shareholding in Real Mallorca, the deal with club president, Utz Claassen, having been signed at midday in Madrid. Sarver and Claassen attended a club shareholders' meeting yesterday evening in Palma. Sarver has injected some 21 million euros into the club, in return for which he and his associates have received 80% of the shares. These associates are Andy Kohlberg, the vice-president of Phoenix Suns, Steve Nash and one other; Sarver and Kohlberg between them hold 72%. Utz Claassen remains club president and retains 20% of the shares. Sarver, it is understood, will pay off 38 million euros of debt at some point, while he is also prepared to inject significant amounts of investment if and when the team is promoted to La Liga. To oversee all this, there is to be a new managing director who will have responsibility for administrative and sporting affairs. He is the Swiss footballer, 33-year-old Maheta Molango, who is currently playing for a team in the Madrid regional league but is a specialist in sports law and has assisted Sarver in previous football club acquisition attempts. This appointment seems to leave no room for current sporting director, Miquel Angel Nadal. It is said that Nadal has offered to stand down from his position if he does not fit in with the plans of the new owners. After being turned down by Rangers, and Levante, Sarver managed to raise 21 million euros, with help from 3 other investors, to fund the takeover. He has promised to eventually write off debts, and invest further if Real Mallorca are promoted to La Liga. Real Mallorca are currently 18th in Segunda Liga. Interesting 'promise' of investment... He's not a convicted liar as far as I know.2. 'Rangers International Football Club PLC (RIFC) is pleased to announce new loan facilities totalling £6.5m have been made available to the company over the past month.'The facilities have been provided by existing lenders New Oasis Asset Limited (Dave King), Douglas Park, George Letham and George Taylor and by three new lenders, RIFC Director John Bennett and two additional Hong Kong based supporters, Barry Scott and Andy Ross.http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3381547/Rangers-borrow-6-5million-bid-ease-financial-situation-bulk-pay-Sports-Direct.html

LaudrupsPatrickBoots 13,510
I'll be keeping an eye on this one over the next couple of seasons. Still have a feeling this will turn out to be a huge opportunity missed by us.

AlBear. 8,499
21mill at the moment, much has the current lot invested so far?Depending on what exchange rate you can get, it's about even. If you don't count what our current board paid for their shares.
AlBear. 8,499
If Real Mallorca lose to Real Valladolid tomorrow they will be relegated to the third tier of Spanish football. Sarver should have maybe used some of that 'promised investment' in January, if he actually had it. Maybe he can't get a penny out of Arizona... I couldnt give much of a fuck about Sarver as hes not in the picture at Ibrox, I do care about Rangers, as im sure you do. Which is why it baffles me how you'll make Sarver out to be a cunt for not investing when our current board is guilty of the same. Complete double standards. Are you fucking at it mate? You feel sorry for mallorca for not getting their promised investment, but youre overjoyed that Rangers hasnt got theirs? Keep contradicting yourself. As ive said many times, folk like you care more about winning the boardroom argument than you do about the Club prospering. Im done arguing with you because youre either a clown, a troll or you just dont give a fuck that your double standards are so blatant.
