Nonsense, sorry bud but we can and will do better  hopefully

Just being realistic, we have wasted so much money recently so feel better either isn't affordable or they look at that squad and the money they will have to spend and pass.

Yep it's got pitfalls all over the place.

All of us want a good manager in permanently now, and for him to build us up again and get us winning. But such a capable guy is likely to be employed so we need to find cash for him and to pay off Beale, and hopefully for funds in Jan. I doubt we have such funds freely available.

I really fear that even if we have the right guy, that he fails to win stuff with this squad and the fans turn on him too by the summer. Which many will.

A temp stop gap isn't ideal, but it might help that manager's cause in the longer term. I've no idea who though.

There's no clear option for who the right guy is, so I'd imagine whoever the Board bring in, permanent or temp, will be met with huge amounts of negativity.

Like most, I can see the negatives of each option but not the solution, not the name who is achievable and ticks all our boxes.  It's a fucking shitshow.

That's pretty much my view as well, especially after wasting so much money on sacked managers and underperforming players.

I like Muscat, but many are against "projects"

Potter is too expensive and I'm also not a fan.

Clarke is a hilarious suggestion (that I personally wouldn't be happy with) as there is no chance he accepts.

I still want Beale gone though, but don't see any obvious solutions unfortunately.

  3. There needs to be some realistic expectations about who would be available and also willing to take the job.

As we may have sacked 2 managers in less than a year, anyone taking the job will also want a good long term contract in the event we need to let them go as well.

  4. It's not ideal to sack someone when they are winning. Especially if we have no long term replacement, which is very likely.

I get the argument about being proactive rather than reactive, but if its rushed and things go south and we hit 2024 with no league cup or European football and are further behind in the league it will look like a collosal fuck up.

Silverware over performances all day every day.  Wins get silverware.

I'm not sayingbits the long term answer but my reply to Esquire was about bringing in a new manager in Nov.

If Beale wins every game til then, then the bigger risk is to replace him with someone who doesn't know the squad. If this new guy loses cups and the league he'll be in exactly the same position Beale was in the summer with a turning support and  a limited and lesser spend than the scum to overhaul them.

This is my feelings, it's very Groundhog Day.

The financials worry me as well.

Getting rid of Gio and compensating QPR, now the potential Beale pay off after all his spending.

  6. Sacking him in the morning after another win would be difficult, it could also be off putting for any potential new manager to see this done.

Dropping more points and exiting cups unfortunately feels inevitable with this squad, and I don't believe a new manager has enough time or the luxury of their own players to turn things around.

Would still like to see someone in before the end of the year though.
