Still don’t know what to make of Yilmaz he shows some lovely touches, bursts of speed and great vision but more often that not his final ball is poor. Tidy that up and he’d be a great player

Baffles me how so many ex players/pundits get air time without actually knowing the rules. His main defence for it not being a handball is the speed of play and him not doing it intentionally. Which are both completely irrelevant.

I’m with you on that. It’s worth noting Rangers pointed out in their own statement the penalty would not have been awarded as Sima was offside so they are in agreement with that. The complaint is that how the decision was reached appears to have been wrong then lied about.

I agree. But I’m specifically commenting on something suggesting the offside would have been irrelevant to the penalty award.

I don’t want it to come across as me defending the VAR team here. From what we’ve seen it appears Collum has looked at that handball and decided it wasn’t an offence which is fucking madness. I just think overall the decision to not award a pen seems to be correct, although arrived to incorrectly.

I’m sure that’s wrong. Imagine someone is played through (and is offside) they round the keeper and are fouled Ref gives a pen. VAR would look to see if they were offside when played through, and if so would retract the pen award. Slightly different situations of course but the idea that offside can only be used in the event of a goal I don’t think is correct. Not an expert though so I could be wrong.

I’m certain this will have happened many times when penalties have been awarded only for the decision to be changed due to an offside in the build up.

I’m pretty sure if VAR had deemed it a pen, they would have went back and seen the offside and then gave that as the decision. So we were never gna get a pen. The issue is it appears VAR looked at that handball and didn’t deem it an offence

Nothing we didn’t know already, today just gave us another example. Hopefully in Jan we can bring in at least 3 players in those positions, even if just short terms to see us until summer.

At his current level he should be back up to a more established player in his position. I actually think he’d be a very good option from the bench. As we all know though it’s been about 20 years since we had a reliable player at right mid.

Clement has been seen during games several times giving him a hard time over this but he continues to do it.

I’d be annoyed as fuck, but could forgive him if in that chance in the first half he got a shot away but didn’t score. But to be in that position and be so lacking in technical and mental ability that you don’t even get a shot away is ridiculous. Give that opportunity to spfl dross the standard of a fucking Stevie May and I’d expect them to at least get a shot in.
