  1. You do wonder what the hold up could be. Is it simply money? In which case it's not great. Surely our record European scorer, 5 year serving player, title winning goal machine wants to stay at the club and money isn't an issue? Is he wanting a realistic release clause in his contract? Is that what's holding it up? Seems a bit strange both parties have allowed such a situation to fester and continue. The thought of him seeing out his contract and leaving for nothing is unthinkable. He kind of has the club over a barrel because no one is going to pay a fee for him this window. He then gets to January and can talk to anyone he wants and leave for next to nothing. Graeme 4 is correct, Jelavic was a better player. That isn't even debatable imo. I also really liked Cousin. Then there is Prso, Boyd, Novo all of whom contributed to great success at the club before we get to Mols, Wallace, McCoist etc etc etc. Morelos has won 1 trophy in almost 6 years. Now the club is settled and the team is strong enough to compete, last season should have been his breakthrough season to truly be spoken about in the same terms as those other names but injury curtailed that. It would be a shame if he saw out his contract and didn't fulfil what some our fans think he can achieve here. I'd love to see him play in this seasons team with all these attacking players we have now. Especially Yilmaz who looks like he could be an assist king!
  2. Good excuse to get Scott Wright back in the team...
  3. I am seeing a lot of this assumption but no one actually knows if that is true at all. They may well have, but with it probably being the last contract of their careers, do you really think they are going to sign up for a bit part role on reduced terms? I'm not so sure. Again, we don't know the thinking behind new deals for these guys. We can all guess but no one really knows. We won't be buying a new keeper so the McGregor one may well be necessary over the season whether we agree with it or not. The Arfield one however i do agree is a strange decision. Davis i can understand given his standing in the game. What is he going to teach them? How to feign injury? Crash bottles at the Piggery? How to hide? How to pass backwards all the time? How to let their man get across them to score against us? How to down tools for months at a time? Spot on. Certain games mentally kill him.
  4. I am sure the board have it under control. Our staffing costs are the highest they have ever been and we are carrying the most expensive squad we've ever had yet we are about to post big profits from the last financial year. And will again next year. In thanks obviously to the Patterson, Gerrard and European money obviously, and then the Aribo, Itten and Bassey money for next year. With the board declaring we were finally self sufficient and no longer needing loans from directors to keep the doors open we can only assume things are pretty positive for a change. By all accounts we have been breaking all sorts of merchandise records with Castore, Bisgrove has stated commercially the club has never been stronger, we keep selling out expensive season tickets, we are expanding hospitality every summer across the stadium which rakes in millions and we are now finally selling assets for big money. I don't think the club as a whole has ever been stronger. On and off the field. As for departures, there needs to be clubs interested and it's not often clubs are interested in players who are either frozen out, cast aside, out of favour or happy to sit about doing nothing. That's the hard bit. The squad is huge and i am sure the club is trying to offload certain players but it's far harder than just binning them. It looks like gone are the days of Murray and Bain just throwing a few hundred grand at someone to rip up their contract. Many of us won't like it but i think the board might just deserve some credit. It looks very much like we are finally on the right road.
  5. Very pleasing evening. So happy for Lawrence and Matondo. That 15 minute spell was madness. Could see the difference in the team when Jack and Wright were replaced with a bit of quality. Whilst we were comfortable 1st half, the start of the 2nd half was swashbuckling. Our 2nd goal was one of the best goals i've seen us score in some time. The quality of possession, speed of passing, direction of passing, from back to front, controlled and silky. We ripped them apart. 3rd goal was a cracker as well. Felt they came back into it after our 3rd, which is only natural, they must have got some fright, maybe a touch of hand ball about their goal as well? All in all a brilliant run out for us. Could McLaughlin be our number 1? So many options at the back Goldson Souttar, Sands and now Davies. Can only be good surely. Lundstram masterclass. Outclassing Rice imo. Kamara back to his classy best. Some unreal footwork and passing. Feel for the big striker, he tried like hell and he does press well, pass well, link up etc etc. He works hard for the team. Desperate for him to get a goal.
  6. Assumed it was out of respect and would get back to normal in due course.
  7. Has any midfielder since given us the numbers Windass did? Or the games/goals/assist ratio Pena did?
  8. This. The idea that Scott Wright is a regular starter for Rangers is just ridiculous.
  9. We will defo need him or his replacement in and ready for the Piggery mate yes. I still think we need a striker. A first team one.
  10. Even if he came back this week or next he is not going to be fit for the qualifiers. It is going to take him at least 2 months to get back up to speed. He will have missed an entire pre season by the time he is back.
  11. Haha Aye right! Surely i don't need to put positions next to names ffs.
  12. The poll options are shite. Devine is a right back, all right sided and cannot play left back despite being shoe horned in there. Souttar can play either RCB or LCB. Midfield options can't get right combination. As i said. Shite. And that is with respect to the OP. Strongest 11 as it stands GK McGregor RB Tavernier LB Barisic CB Goldson CB Souttar CM Lundstram CM Jack CM Kamara LW Kent RW Matondo CF Morelos Midfield worries me, as does Kents lack of goals along with his and Alfies contract situation. GK position also a huge worry along with LB. Much work still to be done imho. GK, LB, 10 and another striker of quality needed. Season upon us as well......
  13. Let's hope he has a wee bit more about him than Zelalem and Hyndman!
  14. He was brought in to replace Itten who was 3rd or 4th choice striker so don't think we should expect too much for him in all honesty. Giving him number 9 maybe sends different signals though. And changes expectations so i understand the scepticism, that's 2 games against lower league English dross and no goals. It's a heavy shirt!
  15. I fear for him going to the Brendanbeu etc. Tough away matches. His head seems to really go when it goes. Bassey will go so imho i think we need a first choice left back now.
  16. Lowry would have. If he was playing. That's the kind of stuff he pulls off!
  17. A wins a win. Positives are McCann and Matondo, Souttar getting minutes. Not sure much more after that.
  18. Honestly mukka, i am. Been a lurker for years. I know all the main cast members. Signed up once years ago but lost my log in after not coming on for ages. Thought i'd try again but fuck me man.
  19. Gutted Ross. Thought i had seen the last of Arfield etc last season.
  20. Rangers forum for Rangers fans. Am i not welcome? Is it a closed shop for cunts to accuse new comers they are taigs? It's a fucking joke the way some of you can't handle a different opinion. Wind your neck in. I'll be at Ibrox next week and week after if any admin want to meet and vouch for me ffs. Arseholes.
