Season is over - who's staying /going?
Southsider replied to East Enclosure Row N's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
Indeed. Wright also has a good attitude, and McCausland. Basically we have 3 wide players with a good attitude but not good enough at football -
Simon Murray is 32 and plays for Ross County. How many goals has he scored in Europe? This is the point that is being made - celtic use their profile to big up their players and get good money for them. We don't and people like you are part of the problem - by your reckoning celtic have no chance of getting £10M + for O'Reilly because he's scored less this season than Simon Murray.

Danilo will be staying. Not sure how popular a view this is, but as far as CF is concerned, I'd rather we spent what we can afford on one good CF rather than a couple of prospects and had Danilo and Dessers as the alternates. Obviously Roofe goes. Wide right is a massive problem, hence Sterling playing there a lot. Matondo and Wright need to go and not really sure McAusland is ever going to make it, but would probably keep. Basically we need two players for wide right. On the left, if we could keep Sima and add Cortes we would be sorted. In midfield, Lundstram, Jack and Lawrence all need to go. Sterling and Diomande are keepers and if Cantwell and Clement can make up. I'd keep him too. Raskin? - sell if there's a half decent option. I reckon we'd still need a DM and an attack minded (box to box, rather than no 10), then. Then there's the defence - for all the talk about Dessers, injuries to wide players, etc, the reason we lost the league is that our defence turned into one of the worst in the league in the run in. The whole starting back line needs replaced. Jefte already in, but we need to get rid of Goldson, Davies, Tav and Balogun (sorry, but he's too old), get three in and keep Soutter as a back up. I'd rather see Sterling in midfield, but he could be Tav's replacement, I suppose. I'd prefer to keep Butland, but obviously he'll be sold if a big enough offer comes in. -
Exactly. Dessers with 22 goals, including a superb one in Europe is worth nothing? We should be looking to sell him at a profit.

Exactly. I am encouraged a bit by the fact that Clement appears to think the same way and favours athletic players.

Initially, after the OF game I felt the same. But I want to win the cup more and the alternatives aren't great. It's just possible that he will want to make up for that performance. -

Ricksen wasn't a great RB. His best performances were mainly in midfield -
Welcome to Rangers, Philippe Clement!

Raskin. Lundstram shouldn't play for us again -
Hopefully. Demonstrated time and again that he is a player with reasonable ability who doesn't really give a fuck about anything other than his pay packet

Great Sitting on the train to DaNang looking at 6 cans of Bia Hanoi - is this a good or bad thing? It's the hope that kills you, and this season has been worse than most. Still, we have the chance in a couple of weeks to match the achievements of St Johnstone Hopefully, won't see Lundstram again, but won't be surprised if we do

I'm not sure it adds much to the discussion, but I'd like point out that Cantwell's post is factually incorrect
-
So what you're saying is that he's due one? Brilliant!

Win next week and they are under pressure, make no mistake about it. Their mindset is that this is done, and it's hard to change if turns out it isn't -
Maybe true, but looks like we're going to win by 3 without a clean sheet
-
Win today by 2 and then put 3 past them next weekend and it's all square. That's the sort of mindset I'd like our players to have

Exactly, win today. Beat them next week and then watch them crumble against Kilmarnock. Simple -

Sound financial advice, IMO
