Its not so much the formation for me although i agree with the OP that we are far better and more suited to 433, Its more about the personnel and as long as Boyd isnt playing in any formation we'll be much better for it imo.

Thought Thommo was shocking and was verging on being a passenger at times, His sloppy control then lack of effort to close down for the 3rd goal just summed up his overall performance for me, Still needs time and games to get back to full speed but hes nowhere near as good as some think for me and he may struggle to get back in with the form of McCulloch imo and i would be very surprised to see him from the start on Sunday.

Another shocking effort from him today imo and i genuinely think we would be better off without him at times playing with 10 men. Cant be arsed moving, cant run with the ball, Cant jump or hold it, Poor fitness,awareness and touch, the guy is a complete joke for a professional footballer imo and is also a very bad role model for our youth coming through for me.

I would be going with the same team that played against Stuttgart with Weir in for Bougherra but unfortunately i can see WS upsetting the whole team and system to accomodate Boyd which is a mistake for me as once again we seen how well we can play as a team in a 433/451 without him midweek and we will probably be back to our poor form off last weekend with him standing up front like a traffic cone offering the midfield nothing and hardly putting in any effort for the team.

Anyone that seriously thinks Boyd will get a start in the CL hasnt got a clue for me, He hasnt got the fitness,technical ability and mobility to give us anything at that level and he will be lucky to get some minutes in the latter stages of games. In fact when everyones fit i think he may well not even get a spot on the bench.

I agree but the club have tried to get him out the door and he doesnt want to go so i dont think the club can be blamed if he runs down his contract and goes for nothing. I think WS is moving towards a 433 where he needs forwards who can be flexible and i dont think Boyds worth 11k basic in the current climate and given our financial situation as i only see him as a squad player who can fill one position and in that position he needs others to tee him up to be effective so i would offer him 5k a week basic +bonuses to stay and thats it.

Anyone picking Boyd in their CL team needs their head examined imo as he just doesnt have the fitness, athleticism and ability to compete at that level for me. My team would be- McGregor Whittaker Weir Bougherra Papac Davis Thomson Mendes Naismith Miller Rothen

Apart from the slight problem of running up debt of £80m. yes and also as am admitting i dont like murray when he was Rangers chairman am over the moon i dont need to use his name in the same line as CHAIRMAN anymore but he did slash the debt from 70 to 20 million. debt which he created. True but at least he was willing to do something about it and rectify his mistake as best he could, Look at Leeds Utd. I find it churlish when some criticise him for chasing a dream and i doubt they wouldve been complaining at the time, Also he wasnt to know the way football was going and the fact Setanta would go bust on top off a global recession and credit cruch but we are still in pretty decent shape now imo with an ok squad, if we win the title next season and get direct entry to the CL i see no reason why our debt cant be brought down to a decent manageable level.

2 mil for me but if noone comes in with that and we are in the last day of the window and only have a bid of 1 mil from whoever, i would take that as hes not going to be given a new contract imo and we need to get whatever we can for him in this window.

Boyd shouldnt be in that list imo. McCoist for me

Couldnt care less really as long as we win but if i had to choose someone it would be Lafferty because it could help him fulfil his potential to become a top player for us imo.

Why hasnt he been motivated for the last 2 games where he was utterly abysmal and offered the team nothing and if WS didnt make the change against the sheep he wouldve cost us again imo, Novo has proven he is the man for the big occasion, Boyd has shown hes not up to it time and time again and WS would have to have gone senile to go with him imo and if he does we can forget it for me as we need guys who are going to give everything with whats at stake not someone who just isnt fit enough to put the effort in required. Lafferty through the middle with Novo and Miller either side for me in a 451/433, Matches up DU and we played some excellent football with it for the last 30 minutes against the sheep with their pace and movement which DUs back 4 is weak against.

This could (and has been) argued to death, no stats etc have changed anyones opinion on the matter in the last 2 years Thats your opinion, fair play. Mine is i would play Boyd ahead of Lafferty of Novo, and alongside Miller, thats that. Then you either have no clue about football or dont attend the games for me. If Boyd plays at Tannadice, we can forget it imo as we cant afford passengers away against the top 6, 1 win in nearly 3 years with Boyd starting away against the top 6 and that was the recent 3-2 game at Easter Rd.

Velicka,Boyd and Smith were an embarassment tonight and i hope we dont see any of them again this season, Lafferty Miller and Novo for me from now on.

[/b Says it all about him really, Its Boyds fault that hes lazy and overweight, cant jump or control the ball or take it in and run with it or be able to find a team mate, but WS must take the blame for putting him on today as ive no doubt about it, that decision cost us the game as we went a man down and they were able to squeeze up the pitch and keep us heemed in and it was just a matter of time before the goal even without his pathetic marking on Odea, Im sick to the back teeth of seeing this waster playing for Rangers and i hope we can get shot of him in the summer, we are a far far better team without him and if weve to have any chance of the league he cant play in anything other than the bottom 6 at home and even then were better off without him.

I dont expect to see much of him for the run in and it'll be Lafferty up front with Miller for me and i hope Brum get promoted and come back in with 4 mil for him in the summer as hes a man down most of the time and a poor example for our youngsters coming through for me.

Whats new, its just his usual but without the goal, Cant believe Brum were going to give us 4 Mil and we never got shot of him.

Purely as a player, Fletcher can run with the ball, beat players, has a better touch, game awareness and is far better than Boyd for me. Boyd is the better goalscorer and poacher but then again if Fletcher was in Rangers team im sure he put away more than his fair share of the chances that he'd get.

He wouldve helped us but 9 million was too good an offer to turn down, he was a 4-5 million pound player at best for me and the club had to take the money. What we had was more than good enough for the title and had it not been for our European run plus some disgraceful decisions by the SPL and referees we wouldve won the league no problem. Selling Cuellar was good business as well for me because we got Mendes,Davis and Boogy plus i dont think hes a 8 million pound player either.

The money was spent to strenghten the squad and from what ive seen of him so far its looking like the right decision as hes not worth anywhere near 9 million for me.
