Interesting post Frankie, I have been a supporter of SDM for many years and not afraid to admit it, I think he has done more good than bad. I also fully agree he has (along with Walter & Co) to get it right this summer, it is the last chance saloon for me. If we do not get in some really good players then I will be calling for the chairman to go. I have just paid nearlly £600.00 for a season ticket and I want to see the faith I have put in the club reciprocated.

While I get your point about not spending money we do not have, the team needs sorting out and I do not agree that Brown is not needed, we very much need someone on the right side of midfield who can get box to box and make telling crosses. If SDM does not make a reasonable amount of money available to Walter I can see us not winning anything again next season, and that is going to be very hard to take. :angry2:

I am very dissapointed we have not got Brown, I think he should have been our number one target, along with a top striker. As far as the price goes, a player is only worth what people are prepared to pay for him, and I do not believe 4+ million is over the top in his case, that amount of money spread over 4 or 5 years is good value. Maybe Walter has a better alternative, and if so then fine but at the moment this tells me SDM (who I respect) no longer has the ambition we the supporters have. Very pissed off, not happy and f**k the wee ginger twatt for wanting to sign every player we want. (mad)

I agree, the referee started the silence much quicker than I expected, and I think this thread is getting very much out of hand. I am sorry it happened and probably so are the players, but I do not for a minute beleive they were meaning to be disrespectful.

While not condoning anyone smiling during the minutes silence, I do wonder if this is being driven by people who have an agenda against Boyd. There are some very whiter than white opinions being put on this thread and I just hope the people who are posting that views can live up to them. I have alway lived by the principle that there are TWO side to every story, and I beleive Walter will find out what made them smile and also make sure they do not do it again.

Never in my forty years as a Rangers supporter have I come across such negativity towards a player who scores goals on a regular basis. I do not know what the boy has done that so many fans want to sell him, but it must be something really bad. Glad to see about two thirds agree with me, and want him to stay. (harhar)

As a member myself, I think it important for as many people to join as possible. It is in my opinion the best way to get the fans voice heard. (clap)

I think Kenny Scott will be agood appointment, I have worked with him when I was a steward at Ibrox a few years ago, he was 2nd in charge of the police in the stadium and always found him to be a gentleman. (header)

It is very strange why so many fans on this board speak about Boyd as if he did not play for us and is our top goal scorer, I never thought the PLG problems would still be having such an effect at this time in the season. For f**ks sake try and get behind our players and support them rather than run them down all the time. :angry2:

Yeah it was pretty long but our problems can't be discussed succinctly unfortunately. My own threads are often best read with a cup of tea and a biscuit at break time... The cleaners issue was a reference to an incident of late last year where a lucazade bottle was photographed in one of our trophy room cabinets. A Celtic fan had put it there to mock the death of a well known Rangers fan. Maybe not the worst of stories but another small example of the malaise at our club. I understand and share your concern about the chairman's feelings. Pressure has to be put upon him to deliver and we can only hope he does. Many, many fans still back him completely and many, many fans are apathetic to some of the issues/problems remaining at our club. SDM knows this so more direct protests may not have the effect some would think. Late last year was evidence of that. We have to be very careful in how we apply any pressure. Thanks Frankie for explaining the cleaners story, did not know about that. I would be very happy for SDM to do what we want and give us the players we need, I for one would like him to leave whenever that is with his head held high, but I am starting to run out of patience. <cry>

A lot of good stuff there Frankie, just a tad long but I have read most of it. Not sure about the cleaners and troublemakers part, is this referring to to some particular incident ? When Celtic won the title on Sunday again I was pissed off, I knew it was coming but I still was annoyed that it had happened again, the 5th time in seven years. What I was wondering at the time was if SDM was feeling as disappointed as I was, or was he ignoring the fact it had happened. I have always supported him for what he has done in the past, but I am realy worried he no longer cares as much as we the fans do. This summer will tell us how much he cares, we must buy players of a calibre that can challenge for the league, if not we the fans will have to make him leave, I hope that is not the case because SDM has been good for us and I would not like his time to end like that, but I am not holding my breath.
