  1. This is funny. He says 'Ferguson was not carrying out his duties as captain...' Why should he care? He doesn't think captains are necessary. ffs PLG. Sober up.
  2. I feel for Gavin -- out of his depth. But if he says he didn't know...then it's clear it's just personality. But, I suspect Gavin is just being diplomatic and quite probably protecting Barry.
  3. It could also be that either or both of them are trying to play DM ... which would be a very dangerous thing for him to do. Yes. If PLG publicly states that he has Sir DMs backing on this and he doesn't-- even mistakenly -- he's gone. Has to be. I mean, the troubling thing to me at the moment is why Sir DM would fly back for this? Surely if he knew 100% what was going on, there would be no need? He would've expected PLG to provide Barry with.. "Here's the issues as we have gone over them before: Point 'a' Point 'b' Point 'c' . . ." And Barry understands -- isn't surprised -- doesn't burst into tears. Ah well, wtf do I know? Nothing. Makes no sense to me.
  4. Guys, this is a massive contradiction. Consider: PLG claims to have the backing of Sir DM. That backing cannot be simply based on PLG not getting on with Barry. Someone is lying -- plain and simple. Perhaps PLG 'thinks' he has Sir DMs backing since he had spoken to him about something to do with Barry. PLGs communication skills are a disaster from what I can see. And why would Sir DM fly back for crisis talks if the decision was taken some time ago? So, it simply can't be for the reasons that Dodds gives. There's a helluva lot more to this. And I don't believe PLG either -- in fact, I believe no one at the moment.
  5. Sounds like a reasonable scenario given history and what we know of PLG. Good post. I would add that PLG knew (ar at least had to know one would think) that he was coming to a different culture, diferent game etc. And... that HE might have to adapt. It seems he has not. He has not adapted his tactics (well only recently) and certainly the one strike and your out style has to go. Perhaps he will learn from this -- because if he doesn't it's bye bye. (Sooner rather than later.) His reputaiton is already tarnished in Europe since he has up to know anyway, been a total failure on and off the pitch. Results speak volumes.
  6. After KBs salute to Barry today -- will PLG now axe him?
  7. ok.. his haircut is an absolute disgrace. lol
  8. Thing is guys... With Boydie acting this way, it shows that there is at least players in that room that are firmly on Barry's side. PLG does not have the respect of the team -- plain and simple. The question is why not? If he was so freakin good, we wouldn't be in this position? It ain't all Barry's fault here. PLG has had too many run ins with players in his short tenure here. And how many do we not know about?
  9. Sorry of this has been posted before -- there's a zillion threads out there... Is there a 'show down' meeting tonight?
  10. He's done plenty! Signed SHEBO - Disaster, Signed Sionko - Partial disaster, Signed Svensson - Almost disaster, Signed Clement -- ok, good, Signed Letizi -- wtf? Got rid of Ricksen -- ok Nando had a bit of an issue - but no second chances with PLG, Got rid of Bardsley -- Didn't Phil try to make up? Again no second chances, Said the squad was 'good enough' and didn't need any more signings, Said we had spirit and committment against St. Mirren -- surely, he's having a laugh, Didn't wear a tie in the post match interview against Inverness (should be sacked just for that alone.) Is trying to oust our best player and leader because he is trying to lead -- something PLG cannot do himself apparently Figures he could win the SPL with Austria Vienna rejects Barely speaks English -- and it hasn't improved. Why not? etc. Oh well, yes PLG you've done plenty
  11. Yes.. Fantastic Goalkeeping by McGregor. That must piss off Le Guen. His brilliant signing not even on the bench. lol.
  12. Last year Barry played with an ankle that required surgery. Most players would not have played. He did. I doubt if one Mr. Le Guen would have played through the injury Barry had. From May 18, 2006 Ferguson revealed he had been playing with snapped ligaments since April and now accepts that the operation should have been carried out earlier. "It's fair to say I left it too long," he said. "I probably should have had the surgery long before I did. However, I just want to play all the time and try to get the best for Rangers. "I won't make the same mistake again. I couldn't believe I had been playing with snapped ligaments, but the surgeon told me that I had probably become immune to the discomfort." ~~~~~~~~~~~ So to chastise him for last year is pathetic.
  13. Well done Kris Boyd -- but we must now prepare to say goodbye. (That is if PLG lasts the month.)
  14. yes... The team needs a leader -- and Barry figures PLG isn't doing the business.. so he has to. Barry has been Captain of Rangers, Blackburn and Scotland. Were all the managers wrong about him?
  15. Would it surprise anyone if we get say 3 mill for Barry and nothing is spent? Also, if Barry leaves (still to be decided) probably a loan deal since he probably figures PLG won't last. PLG didn't sound too convinced he'll be around. If Murray had indeed backed him, he would have not have said that he didn't know if he would be around? That his decision had put him in a precarious position. Why?
  16. Agreed Papac is a liability at left back -- Murray is a huge improvement -- on another of PLGs duds. Novo lacks quality. Plays for the jersey -- but sometimes that just ain't enough. Adam -- Lacking some consistency -- but still young and WILL improve. No arguments from me on this.
  17. A Captain is the manager's representative on the pitch. Clearly PLG thinks that this role is overrated. But an OF Captain is so much more. It brings responsibility on and off the pitch. I hate to say it but even Lennon knows this. The issue is probably stemming from the fact that Barry didn't listen to PLGs half time talk vs St. Mirren and decided to implement his own game plan. Maybe he's been doing that for a while -- I don't know. Anyway, of course Barry's Dad is going to support him -- what Father wouldn't? The solution to this is simple. Barry and PLG get along ffs. (At least until the end of the year and then we'll see where we are.) Right now, we need everyone pulling in the same direction and start to get results.
  18. You and me both mate. Let's hope Murray sorts it though -- and today. This is all bad for RFC no matter which side you're on. RFC are the most important thing, not Barry nor PLG.
  19. Gavin Rae was quoted as saying he walked into the Manager's office thinking he was getting ditched, and walked out the NEW Rangers Captain. Doesn't sound like a temporary appointment to me.
  20. Lets pretend you are right. A little bit worrying if a chairman has a players confidence before that of the manager. This might stop other managers from considering a job at the club. Also this would make Fish's take on Murray 100% correct.I would also join get rid of the chairman brigade. Only issue I see here is that PLG has given the chairman nothing to be confident in.
  21. I'm beginning to believe that Murray will sort this. Both stay. BUT.. PLG has to the end of the year -- no more. Things have to improve dramtically on and off the pitch. And if BOTH stay, then it is a massive slap in the face for PLG. No mistake. Therefore, if that is Murray's option, perhaps PLG will resign., Who knows? It's doin ma heid in lol.
  22. Your comment is ridiculous. You clearly have no respect for Barry. One of the few players that actually give a damn about our team.
  23. Well, if we sell Barry, we have to replace him. With whom exactly? Scott Brown? He couldn't lace Barry's boots. And what would that cost? The net would have to be be more than paying off PLG -- or close enough to not make a difference. (Take into account the fact that we would lose 4 mill or so on Barry). PLG needs to be reminded that HE is not bigger than the club either. So yes, a kick up the arse is exactly what he needs. And if I ever see him on TV again without a Rangers tie... (willy)
  24. Barry is on 25K per week for the next 3 years and we would have to sell him at a huge loss. Another scenario: Murray makes them kiss and make up. Barry back as captain. Gives PLG a kick up the arse that most of us want and Barry becomes more of a 'team' player. Might just work?
