Ty McDeathKill. I'm up for a few games, some of the wankers on Live drive me nuts. Lol I was playing with my housemate last night and it ended up with him chasing me in a helicopter. Like somehting from a Bond film, I was trying to drive an shoot him at the same time, he was chasing me down these roads . Fucking quality.

These teams talk shit, and I hope I never hear any of our lot whinge about 'negative tactics'. Illegal is it? Then shut the fuck up. All these poor lambs whining because other teams won't ler them play they want to play. Sorry, but if a team's so great, they should be able to cope with whatever another team throws at them, not whinging. No-one ever takes responsibility any more, you never hear "well ther team were just better", it's always excuses.

TBH they're the single most unbiased place. Obviously I take into account a lot of reviews, but I take their word above all others. Think I've only ever seriously disagreed with one review ever, which is quite amazing really.

If you're a fan of the Grand Theft Auto series already then we honestly can't see any way that you're going to be disappointed in this latest sequel. It's a clear step beyond any of the previous games in the series and so full of detail and unexpected extras it dooms any subsequent clones. One of the many problems with the previous GTAs is that while they've always had excellent dialogue, particularly on the radio, they've lacked in terms of story and character. The plot here is typically patchy but in Eastern European immigrant Niko, Rockstar has finally created a main character with some genuine charm. He isn't a braggart and can even be made to make some hard moral choices. Although this improves on every aspect of the series, the underlying structure and gameplay is still largely the same. Once the game has walked you through the basic controls you're then left completely free to take on missions from a variety of people. Most aren't just empty avatars though, but must be befriended and socialised with, a task for which your new multi-function mobile phone is essential. Not only do the main characters seem more alive but the city does too, from snippets of overheard dialogue to the obsessive detail and hidden secrets. And yet no matter how well presented the missions are, few deviate too far from basic shoot-outs or driving tasks. Thankfully the controls for both are much improved, although aiming – particularly in enclosed spaces – is more fiddly than it needs to be. Although the controls have been improved neither ally nor enemy artificial intelligence has. Bad guys still run around like headless chickens, escort missions are still a pain and no one can drive straight. But GTA has always entertained, despite these problems and more - and now it has more stable graphics (although the frame is still sluggish) and even a mildly diverting online multiplayer. With a game of this size it's possible to nitpick endlessly but there's not a single comparable title with anything like the same ambition or flair. It's possible to live an entire virtual life in the game, with a whole fake internet to explore, dating agencies, comedy clubs and sub quests galore. A game defined not by its gameplay but its environment, the promise of the next gen consoles is finally kept. IN SHORT: Easily the best Grand Theft Auto ever and one of the most ambitious and complete video games ever made. PROS: Impossibly huge variety of things to see and do, helped by a superb script and even a decent multiplayer. CONS: Same basic structure of old and an improved but still unreliable aiming system. Sometimes sluggish graphics. SCORE: 9/10 Out: Now (UK) ------------------------------------- BTW for me, these guys word is gospel, they never give biased reviews and I've picked up a fair few quality games they've recommended. They've been going about 6 years I think, and they've only ever given about 5 games a 10/10. San Andreas got an 8 from them. Pretty fair review anyway. I'll give my own thoughts after I've played it for a while

The online's pretty mint. Only had a quick go, but 'New Jack City' (or whatever they're calling it) was a good laugh, as was cops and robbers. Can see a lot potential with it.

I guarantee after GTA4 you won't want to touch any of the older ones

BTW on a slight tangent, for anyone who was confused about the POTY award. I think there's 3 different awards: the Players' POTY (Aids MCreedinho), The Clydesdale Bank POTY (which Cuellar won), and the Writers' POTY (which I don't think has been done yet).

Put the subtitles on mate, i had the same problem. Thought it was funny as fuck the stuff when he talks. BTW, best moment for me was in the safehouse and Genesis comes on - Phil Collins Loyal BTW I haven't touched the multiplayer yet, may have a quick go after. Great stuff so far anyway, early days yet but you get a sense of why all these reviews raved about it.

Something about this really winds me up, that wanker of a chairman has no excuse to sak Sven, none. Honestly my mind's boggled at this, it'd be like us sacking Smith if he didn't win all 4 trophies. I don't like to make sweeping statements without knowing more facts, but christ that Thaksin is a wanker.

One thing I don't get. There's this elitist view on here that the PS3 is so much better than the 360, it's all I ever hear, yet I only see 3 games that you can't get on 360, and for most people not even that. Anyway I'm not interested in starting a pissing contest, we'll all be on GTA later anyway.

I'm never trusting my mate with games again. Even though his girlfriend pointed out that the Halo 3 launch went on for a few hours, he insisted this one wouldn't. He always does this, Mario Galaxy and every game he's picked up for me takes hours. I appreciate him helping me and all, but I don;t have much patience and rather just pick them up myself. I could be sat playing it by now :angry2:
