  1. manti the scottish cup replay in 1962-63 was unreal, baxter ran the show and we beat them 3-0 and could have been 10. the sight of the celtic end being empty with 20 min to go will live with me for ever, and baxter toyed with them that day. Minstral I wasn't at that game but I did see Baxter in the flesh, although I was only 5 at the time (against Hearts at Ibrox). As I mentioned my father is a huge Baxter fan and he always talks about how he would play "keepie uppy" against the Tims and England!! Will be boarding a plane in 24 hours with my Dad for a wee holiday in Scotia. Arriving at 12'sh Sunday and hoping to get to Ibrox for the Motherwell game !! Jet Lag - what Jet lag !! WATP.

  11. Well. I think we need to consider the rampantly blueist nature of the song. Clearly, like so many offensive songs, blueist favouritism marginalises other colours and we all know that marginalisation of minority interests and sensitivities can (and does) wreak havoc in a society seeking equality for all. We, as a support, could go on singing this song about bluebells and their colour, but I think we should voluntarily suspend it lest we damage the club. Supporters of other clubs should of course feel free to chant about terrorists, famine, disasters and the like without fear of penalty or reprimand at any time. After all - that's only fair. Yet again the racists bigots try to hide the truth. Everybody knows that 'The bluebells are blue' is a vile anti irish song which celebrates Cromwell's genocidal holocaust against catholic ireland. The Royal Bluebells were a particularly vicious Regiment in The New Model Army who, when they found a non loyal village notoriously cut off the arms of all of the adult inhabitants. To this day the Irish Diaspora recognise this horror by holding their arms close to their sides when dancing, as if they had none. ....... and at the same time try to stamp out their fagends ......
  12. :unionflag: What part of the song/chorus (and when I hear it sung at games I can only hear a chorus) is offensive to the Mhanks? Reference to the famine - well - lets just change that line. Why don't you go home Why don't you go home Your'e not Scottish/British whatever !! Why don't you go home
  13. :unionflag: I say No. I just don't think he has the all round game of a quality striker. What do we do if he plays against Motherwell and Hibs and doesn't score? For Boyd to stay in the team he has to keep scoring, cause he doesn't do a lot else! IMO. As for his goal against Killie - yes, good goal, does he do that regularly like Rooney, Tevez etc. NO. Can't compare apples to oranges ... He is an enigma .. (and that's not a secret code machine !!).
  14. The meaning of the statement is fine, it is the wording that needs refinement. When you are involved with the things I am day in and day out you get to understand what type of wording works and what doesn't. Using comments such as bitter and twisted doesn't get the job done. The best offence is really a good defence. The only thing that should have been stated in the message was a strong defence of why it should be used which would help to validate it against comment. ------------------------------------------- For example, a 60 second rewrite: TRUST CALLS FOR COMMON SENSE OVER RACISM SLURS Monday, 15 September 2008 The Trust is deeply concerned that Rangers Football Club will not make a statement with regards to recent comments against the club and supporters over the "Famine's Over" chant. The club may fail to recognise that this campaign is supported, and possibly orchestrated, by individuals who intend to smear both the support and club as racist. The "Famine's Over" chant is quite clearly a typical football chant mocking the myths rival fans perpetuate about themselves and should be treated as such. The Trust has a long and noble record of fighting racism and sectarianism in all it’s forms and therefore speaks from a position of credibility and strength in rejecting the recent outcry against Rangers FC and associated supporters. The Trust hopes to see a positive resolution to the growing situation that is of meaningful concern to all of those connected with Rangers FC.
  15. :unionflag: This is interesting http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/roishir...gnatures-7.html
  16. :unionflag: FFS We are the Rangers - every day is Ulster Day !!!! :unionflag:
  17. :unionflag: I arrive on Sunday for the Motherwell game (from NZ). I was told that you can purchase tickets online at rangers.co.uk (27 quid for St.Mirren), but you need to register. I am hoping to be on time for the Motherwell game - straight off the plane! Otherwise I'll be looking to go to St Mirren also.
  18. :unionflag: As I posted on an earlier thread - I cannot believe this absolute drivel from the impoverished (both morally and mentally) morons from across the city!!! Pathetic! The famine happened 1845-1851 - fact. It is over - fact. Go home - suggestion. Where the hell is the a) racism b) sectarianism ?? My anscestors came from Ulster during this time (famine) - I don't find anything offensive with this song. I couldn't stop laughing when I first heard it! You should have heard what we sung in the 70's !!! I really can't believe that it is coming to this - I sincerely hope that the Rangers heirarchy quickly develop some testosterone !!! :unionflag:
  19. Straight from Spiers walking down Kerrydale Street. I find it hard to believe you're true blue. Go home! :unionflag: Why don't we just roll-over and die !!! One mhanky bastard is upset because we gubbed them and complains to the Irish Department about a "so called Sectarian song". Absolute shite! My anscestors came from Ireland and some moved here during the famine. I don't find it offensive. It's the wit and humour of the Old Firm, like throwing tatties onto the park. This is rediculous at best, unbelievable at worst. Why, oh why have they ALWAYS been allowed to sing pro-IRA songs - surely seditious??? Fed up wae the lot of them ..... :angry2:
  20. My 4th If only I had the time There should always be time for Ibrox my friend Two jobs and Uni don't leave much time I'm afraid. Be my first visit since December 1985 !!!! Rangers 2- 0 (Boyd, Novo) What's happened to stevie Smith ???? :unionflag:
