its a long time ago ,i was an aprentice on the first set of flood lights 1955,to get up to the gantry where the lights were you climbed top the to of the main stand throgh a room the govan burgh band used to practice along a gantry to the press box through the trap door onto the gantry under the roof of the stand.when the trap door was opened you were looking down about 40 ft tp the directors box and some of my mates just froze and would,nt go down. what a view  of the park,that was the original permanent lights some temp.had been tried out but pylons were out because the old renfrew airport was over the park flight path.

he was small for a no.9 but he could out jump most defenders he was built solid and nobody messed with jimmy , he was about 5.7. and very fit  he walked like a penguin but when he got the ball he was able to go past people easy.

between jock and deedle   stan anderson one time clyde player signed as a player but never broke through.

johny little came from queens park full back mainly lefty sided 1951 /61,was 2nd choice to caldow ,as a student at jordonhill he came to our school; ass a gym teacher and was very closed book about the gers.but by god you worked hard under him,his one trick was slide tackles solid and reliable player but never international class though did get 1 cap,wouldnt give the kids an autograph ,were not sorry when he moved on.cant remember hearing but he did go to morton to play out the years  gym teacher in greenock after.
