I'm Club Brugge the now. Got 11 points in the Champs league group stage in a group of Inter, Bremen and Braga. Ended up 3rd. Rage. I've got a good enough squad the now to take the title and I don't have a big budget to spend, sadly. Lindado and Kamburov up front with Freidham Holm, Chiumiento, Lindado, Rivaldo, Carlos Elias, Nahuel Benitez and Josmer Altidore as back up.....

Even better than that: In my Empoli game I bought young players (15-17yo) with good stats. Had them in the under 20's for a couple of seasons then got offers in for 50% ownership from the likes of the Milans and Juventus. Bumped the offers up to over what half their value was (eg. value 2mil, I want 5mil) and tick the box for the player to remain with me. I then buy the 50% back a few weeks or months later for 750,000-1,000,000. Easy money. Although I felt quite dirty afterwards.

Its not fair. I'm manager of Rangers and my entire budget is £1.6million, yet Motherwell just bought Boaz Myhill for £1.2million having not sold any players for anywhere near that. With coaches, they do have the potential to improve, but they won't be world beaters. Coaches generally start off with current abilities very close to their potential abilities. Unlike youth players who start very far below their potential.... With youth players, I'm not so sure. I don't trust any of the players from the Gers youth team, but when I manage other sides I try and bring on a few of the youngsters, and sign a barrowload to complement the existing youth set up... Once you have links with a couple of UK clubs and build up your UK scouting knowledge, you should be offered chances to have links with foreign clubs - where you have limited scouting knowledge. This has its problems though, as the places I usually don't send my scouts, are the places where I KNOW there are no decent players. Just wish the game would stop trying to give me links to non-league teams from Norway or unknown teams from Senegal! I also think your clubs reputation plays a part in it. Bigger clubs have a better chance of gaining bigger and better affiliated teams. For example, in a Real Madrid game I started for a laugh, I requested a feeder club and was awarded Messina who are in Serie A. Bide your time!

Its January 2015. Managed Queen's Park for 5 and a bit seasons taking them to the SPL and UEFA Cup, but resigned in a huff after the board continually sold my players for peanuts without asking me. Applied for the Sunderland, Everton and Reading jobs (teams in the relegation area of the EPL) and was knocked back. Applied for Watford, Coventry and Wolves (mid table clubs in the Championship) and was knocked back. Couldn't find a job for 2 months and my rep dropped from national to regional I then applied for the Empoli job, relegation candidates in Serie B. I saved them in my first season (2012) by signing golden oldies like Fabio Grosso, Roman Riquelme, Distin and Drogba. The next season I consolidated my position by finishing 11th. Season after that I won promotion by winning in the play-offs (finished 4th). I'm now sitting 3rd in Serie A, having beaten both Milans away from home 2-1. I'm liking this game again.
