He is technically gifted, strong, tall and still faster as moste defenders in the SPL, simply everything what you want from a striker, but he needs some mental help... I said this in another thread already, that this comment is probably the worst statement a manager can give. He now put himself in a situation, where he realised something is wrong and refused to do something about it. Do this in your job and it will be treated as a missconduct if not gross missconduct... you will probably be fired!

Its kinda sad to read his comments this morning: "But it has happened to us and we have to deal with it. It was not totally unexpected from my point of view because of the way we have handled the pre-season." Is it not the managers job, to make sure the games, training and whole preparation for the upcoming season is been done in the best possible way? This being said by WS makes him look worse than he already does!

Ok guys, I do see you are not happy with the pre-season so far, but can I just let you know a little story about my team Werder Bremen: We played the Intertoto Cup in 2003/2004 against a very small Austrian team "Superfund Pasching". We got hammered by this no name team 4-0 and whole Germany laught at us... It wasnt the best time to support Werder at that time, but the same season, when everyone didnt expect anything at al, some even expected us to fight against relagtion we ended up winning the League and the cup for the first time ever in one year. Pasching was the first team to sent a fax and congratulated us on the being the German League Champs. Since then, I give nearly nothing for the pre-season! Hope you will do the same!

Ok, Life-long Werder supporter here! Thorsten will not leave Bremen. He wont go to Arse-nal and he wont go to the mighty Gers. As much as I would like to see him here in Scotland, but Thorsten already confirmed that he will finish his contract in Bremen and will finish the carreer in Aachen, where he started playing football.

You'll need to check your sources, he IS a Celtic fan. As far as the rumour goes, just phoned his brother Niall to see whats happening. The papers are overplaying it as per, there was initial contact between the clubs regarding a fee, but nothing confirmed. I didn't think he'd come to us from speaking to him, but I may be wrong! Ivan has been quoted in various papers, he wants his future solved before the start of the Euro 2008.

Mark would be a brilliant signing for the future. A regualr U20 player who was "our" most consistent player all season! Give him a season next to Cuellar and/or Weir and he will certainly be worth the money... I do understand he is not your so called "Blue Chip Signing", but Mark will pay back. He is strong in the air, plays solid in defense with less than 5 cards per season and by the way: His technical abilities are much better then most MF players in the SPL. His first touch is absolutly fantastic! As for "die hard Celtic", he owned a MFC Season ticket since he was a wee Boy afaik...

You all dont get it, do you? Ivan is part of the regular team for 6 months and has played 17 games already... He made most of the games and he is fully fit... He started slowly with the reserves for about 2 months, starting October 07 and made his first team debut End of 2008. He made the full preperation during the WInterbreak and is a regular part of the team since then... Tackle by Caldwell and Diamond?? Ivan is too quick... And what has a tackle to do with his injury anyway?

Some sources say he earns about 1,8 Millionen before Tax, which ends up in Germany about 1 Million, maybe 1,2. Lets take 1,2 devide it by 52... It comes up around 23k. I guess he looks at 22-25k a week.

Well, as far as I know, you can lose your life if your kidney doesnt do its job and therfor I am sure that Ivan would not play professional football, if he would be in danger. He had 16 Games already this season. Sub in 7 and Out 6. Scored 7 goals. Doesnt look to me as if he still has problems... does it???

Guys, Ivan is back with the team for nearly 3/4 of a year and had never any problems since then. AFter his problems you can be sure, he will make sure he stays fit and healthy. As a Werder Bremen supporter, I obvisously followed Ivan and I have to admit he is more than worth the money. The thing that kept him from staying with Werder, was the fact the the Werder Docs never diagnosed the kidney problem. Since he got a new one, he is back to full strenghs. WHo ever says he is not worth the money or not worth the gamble, doesnt know Ivan. He has been a cornerstone when we won the Double in Germany 03-04, which is usually only possible for Bayern Munich. He didnt never breach his contract and fullfilled it until the end. Whoever since him, will not only get a great striker, in and out goalscorer, they also get 100% determination and a hard worker! Who ever managed to come back from a Kidney tranplantation to proffessional Football is worth to be called a fighter as well! Would love to see him at the Gers and as far as I know, Dado was speaking to him about the club, thats what he said on Germany TV. Markus

Klasnic would be an oustanding signing. I am a lifetime Werder Bremen supporter and Ivan has not only scored goals, but always been a true sportsman and gave everything he had. Apparently he had problem with the Werder Bremen Docs who failed to diagnose his kidney problems. APart from that he kept on playing and finished his contract, just like you would expect! btw: Isnt Lovenkrands family still living here? I am sure they mentioned something about his wee girl being ill and in hospital in Glasgow...
