  1. I reckon it has more to do with the divisive tweetwankers, but fair play to them if they are now turning their attention on the real enemy. That blog was a real decent read and it was a step in the right direction, they have only scratched the surface with this SFM mob and there is a lot more to come. The need for a wee dig at McMurdo spoils it slightly for me.
  2. I enjoyed that today and it was a pleasant surprise to see this blogger having a go at the Bheasts and attacking and ridiculing the rabid filth who seem to obsess over Rangers. Their obsession and hatred is based on a mixture of inferiority, bigotry, racism and raw sectarianism. No idea why he feels the need to mention McMurdo in almost every decent blog he does.
  3. This group of crackpots who call themselves the SFM think they are untouchable. They aren't.
  4. Do you seriously think that Ball is faster than McKay, Aird, Odowa or Tavernier ? How would you even think this or know this ? and why do you believe that you know better than Warburton, Weir and the rest of the coaching staff. How many games have you seen Ball actually play ?
  5. So do I, but not for my sake for the sake of Rangers. The finger could also be pointed at Wilson for the first goals as he was outpaced by Halloran and the ball should never have been allowed into the box. But centre backs are seldom comfortable in wide positions and all conceded goals can be stopped and blame can be apportioned.
  6. You have no idea if Amo was quicker than Wilson and what the weight difference was or whether that even matters. weight x height does not equal speed. Have you seen the Jack Whitehall advert? Are you saying Amoruso was never beaten for pace or caught out of position or out jumped by someone much smaller than him? as for beating Wilson today in a 40 yard sprint. ? Aye ok then I was at Amoruso's debut for Rangers and he cost Rangers millions when we were at our peak and dominating Scottish Football and signing some of the top players in Europe. He came to Rangers when he was 3 years older than Wilson and approaching his prime after having played in one of the top leagues in the world. Why don't you go a step further and compare Wilson with world cup winners or guys with 3 or 4 CL winners medals. Wilson has been capped at every level of international football. why do you think that is? How many central defences have you seen that are exposed as much as our are, for example, when we have possession they split to receive the ball, whilst our full backs push on. do you think they automatically return in a nano second ? Our defence push up to shorten the pitch and allow our midfield to press, so we don't have a sweeper and we don't sit deep. Do you understand that concept? Weir playing in a bounce game and sitting in deep to cover his lack of pace bears no resemblance to the system that Wilson plays in Wilson is 23, He has 6 years before he reaches his peak as a central defender and that experience is vital and we will gain it at Ibrox working under Weir and Warburton. Weir was probably the driving force behind us signing Wilson. He trusts him, Warburton trusts him and we can only follow suit. There has been a massive over reaction to the St Johnstone game. FFS ! We lost to Peterhead, Annan, Forfar, and others and I cannot remember such a reaction. The positioning of Wilson and Kiernan was wrong against St Johnstone, of that there is no doubt. The pass was inch perfect and lets face it. It won't be the first or last time defenders are caught out of position.
  7. Too much of an ask for a man who is almost 36 and has not played in 9 months. Coming back from an injury and reaching full match fitness is hard without a decent pre season when you are 23. Trying to do this at aged 36 is nigh on impossible.
  8. I agree totally, but I don't think Eustace will be that player. maybe 5 years ago but not now. I would imagine that there are a few players who could fill this role that Mark Warburton will have on his radar,
  9. You are entitled o your opinion mate and its to your credit that you admit you were wrong with Holt. I thought Holt was our best players in the Burnley game and his energy, positive movement and weight of pass offer so much to Rangers. Danny Wilson is 23 years of age, extremely comfortable in possession and he fits into the system that Warburton wants. Not many centre backs fit into the mould that Warburton wants because they could not deal with so much possession in tight areas. As I said in another thread, He captained a team who won this league out of the park last season. He scored against us at Ibrox and the defence he marshalled conceded 26 goals in 36 games including 15 clean sheets. He has CL experience and he played in the CL at the age of 18 He has been capped at every level in International football. He has at least 6 years before he reaches his prime. Who do you think would be a better option at this juncture for Rangers and why, Please don't say Dominic Ball as he is largely untested and his distribution and composure have been less than impressive in the games where I have seen him play.
  10. Lets have a reality check here lads. Most strikers and wide midfielders are quicker than central defenders. So one of the quickest players in the SPFL marginally beats our 2 central defenders in a foot race and some people are having a hairy fit. Jesus wept. If Kiernan and Wilson had the pace of Ussain Bolt they would not be playing for Rangers. What central defenders in Rangers history do they believe were quicker than Kiernan and Wilson ? The 2 players mentioned above are being exposed because of the system we play, The system we all enjoy, The system that is selling STs and match day tickets every game,
  11. I have no time for John Brown whatsoever but in this instance he is correct and he is singing from the same hymn sheet as the management, as you would expect. He wants a job and he wants aboard the gravy train, well officially anyway.
  12. We are all entitled to our views and our opinions but some comments astound me. Some people strangely believe that Kiernan and Wilson are slow and we lose goals because of their lack of pace. I wonder how our 2 centre backs would do in a sprint against St Johnstone's McKay and Stobbie or any other centre back pairing in this league or the SPFL Wilson captained a young team who won this division out the park last season and finished with a +70 goal difference. The defence he marshalled conceded 26 goals in 36 games with 15 cleans sheets. I have even seen people say Wilson is a dud because he could not break into a Liverpool team when he was 18 ? Jesus fuck. They are 23 and 24 years of age and they effectively play in a back 2 because our full backs bomb forward and score goals. I wonder how an exposed Graham Roberts and Terry Butcher would have coped in such a system at the age of 23/24. Germany play a system where their 2 full backs bomb forward, many top European teams do, But they supplement that with 2 defensive minded players who sit in and cover in their 4-2-3-1 formation. We don't. Ally played 2 defensive midfielders and sometimes he played 4 or 5 when he played Full backs in wide midfield, Do we want to return to watching Peterhead, Annan, Berwick and other lower division teams stroking the ball around Ibrox. Andy Halliday tries but its not his game. in defensive terms Jason Holt and Zelalem as as useful as Ann Frank's Trumpet and Elizabeth Fritzel's sun glasses. We all love Warburton's style of play, instead of going to Ibrox as a habit we are now looking forward to it. Wilson and Kiernan will improve as they grow as a partnership and I agree with John Brown on this issue, Central Defenders always mature and get better with age and experience. We all enjoy the football but still some want another Striker in the team and oddly enough they want a defensive midfielder too. Do they actually understand the affect this would have on the team and how it alter the entire system and method of play? Lets all just enjoy the football and back the team and the manager. Players will make mistakes and the manager will make mistakes too, We have a young team who are producing more than most of us imagined, they can only get better.
  13. How do you know Ball is quicker that Kiernan and Wilson? Have you seen the 3 of them race? I seen Ball in the flesh at Ayr, he gave the ball away a few times under no pressure and he looked nervy, It was his first game and that is understandable. In his other appearances he has done nothing to show that he is any better than the existing CB partnership and the fact that Warburton and Weir favour Kiernan and Wilson should be enough for most people.
  14. So listen you rebels to these words I'll give You'll never take Ulster as long as you will For we will destroy you, we are loyal and true and the flag over Ulster, will be red, white and blue.
  15. You do realise that if we add another striker that takes away one of our midfield and totally fucks up our system of play and probably leave us even more exposed at the back. We lost one game against St Johnstone, We were not at our best on Tuesday, We made individual and collective mistakes. We could play St Johnstone again tomorrow and take 4 or 5 off them, I have no doubt about that. It terrific that we are still looking for improvement when we are top of the league with 100% record and are averaging 3.5 goals per game. Our manager has a system of play that means we play with a lone striker and a midfield 7 who get forward, Lets face it, Tavernier and Wallace don't really defend and spend most of the game in the opponents half. I enjoy that 2-7-1 formation.
  16. We could play with 12 men and add another striker and it will not affect our system. Or maybe we can just play with 11 and accept that we are blowing teams away and they can't live with our high tempo passing game with goals coming from the whole team.
  17. Good post, but I think people are misjudging how pacey our centre backs are, Its the situation they find themselves in and the situations they are left exposed to. If Kiernan and Wilson were lightening quick they would not be playing at Ibrox. I would be surprised if there are many more quicker CBs in Scotland.
  18. Halloran would beat most of the centre backs in Scottish Football in a foot race. He would probably have beaten Butcher and Cuellar with ease, Peter Lovelypants would have destroyed almost every centre back in Europe in a foot race. No centre back would welcome a race with a pacey striker or winger. Wilson and Kiernan are no slower that any other centre backs in Scottish Football and I would wager they are quicker that Stobbie and McKay who play for St Johnstone. It has more to do with our set up and system of play, The same system of play that we have all been raving about and enjoying. We need to work on the defensive part and most of us already knew that. Halliday was poor last night and offered very little protection, I am sure Andy knows that better than most. If you don't have tall strikers who can win high balls then you need to whip the ball into the box from wide positions early. We never did that. We were laboured and slow and had no real penetration. We went at them twice, Tav scored and Young Odowa hit the bar, We were a bit "off it" last night, just like the previous 2 games. No way should McKay have been dropped for Miller. The Holt substitution baffled me. Zelalem has faded a little recently and although he is an extremely gifted footballer he maybe need to start having a dig or trying to hit that killer pass, easier said than done when their is no real positive movement in the congested last third.
  19. Young Adebayor to score 1st and 5-1 Rangers. 2000/1
