  1. fair point, and i dont intend on making him the next target as u put it!!! it's just every game i have seen him in so far i have thought that he was absolutely dreadful, just woeful. i don't rate edu or lafferty much at all either but both of them have at least 1 redeeming feature to the their game. ortiz was bought as a wide player and yet he has no pace and his crossing is poor. being in a new country and not speaking the language wouldn't prevent him from showing a turn of pace and sticking a good ball in the box. the truth is, on evidence so far, he just looks really poor and im completely baffled as to why he was signed. hope he turns it around somehoe but i'll be suprised if he does!!
  2. agree with all bar the edu point. thought he was poor again tonight- poor in the tackle , poor first touch and awareness on a number of occassions too. he was'nt the worst on the park though, that is reserved for ortiz who was absolutely terrible. apart from that through ball he played against motherwell he has done absolutely nothing to suggest he'll be a goood signing- have no idea whatsoever why he was signed. he's pish.
  3. fuk me, your hard work. do you think davis and greegs would have signed new long term contracts on at best the same terms??? do you remember the contract kenny miller was offered before he left?? it was massively less then what he was currently on so what makes you think it woud be any different for those 2?? do u agree at least that the bank would not allow their contracts to run down?? them being sold is kinda linked to their contract situation, no??? give me that at least ffs. and of course there would have been teams interested in davis and mcgregor, don't understand what your getting at with that statement- ridiculous thing to say. the issue is not whether i think whittakers a key player or not- YOUR MISSING THE POINT- its that we wouldnt have been able to keep him no matter who rates him or not, the contract would'nt have been able to be offered in the first place. with regards to walter, why exactly would he warn the fans to expect further cuts at the club other than that being the case?? for a laugh?? struggling to understand what your getting at with some of your points at all. having said that , if we end this window having only spent 2million i, too, will have gripes. until then, lets see what business gets done in the last 2 weeks of hte window.
  4. walter smith said last season if the club was not taken over the wage structure would have to be reduced. there's no way we would have been able to offer davis and mcgregor the contracts they would be after and the bank would not have allowed their contracts to run down either, so at least 1 of them would have been sold. i only said 2 key players as i do not think whittaker is, i think he's shit (i said this alot last season before his terrible form this season). but since you regard him as a key player, he would have gone too as we would not have been able to offer him 20 k a week. im not saying we were going to sign every 1 of those targets this window but the bids have gone in so there was a clear intention to sign some of them, going by the numbers it looks as tho we have around 5 million to spend on players which is what we were all told from the biginning. without a new owner WE WOULD BE IN AN EVEN WORSE STATE THAN THE BEGINNING OF LAST SEASON (with a rookie manager), and in my opinion would make winning the tite this year nearly impossible. with around 5 million to spend and maybe a couple of loans we have a good chance. i can't really see how anyone can see different!!
  5. yes, SO FAR. did we not bid 2 million plus for DG?? did we bid 2 million for cuellar? 3 million (i think) for juhasz? 1 million plus for verhoek?? unless you are suggesting we never had any intention of ever signing these players?? we will spend 5 million more than last season come the end of the trasfer window, and have tied up our 2 key players on new big contracts who would otherwise have been sold along with a reduced wage structure yet again- that is a fact. would you rather we were going into this season like that??? i've not been blown away by the new regime so far, but was never expecting to be as CW told us from the get-go what he was prepared to spend on transfers- this was put in writing. mackay and 2 more players for around 2mill each and i think some decent work has been done- a hell of alot more than would have happened if the old regime was still in place.
  6. (tu) exactly, amazes me people chose not too mention this when moaning about signings. we spent the square root of fuck all last year ( and 2 yrs previous). ok, i was hoping to have more players on board by now, and no doubt we've missed out on a couple of our priority signings, but we would undoubtedly be in a worse position under the old regime- that is a fact.
  7. fair do's mate, i just dont rate him at all- think he's a very very average striker. maybe pish was a bit far but the guy i was responding to said 19 spl goals means you are quality!!! 36 games for sunderland- 3 goals. 12 games for sheffield united 0 goals. 13 games for crystal palace- 1 goal. hardly shone when tested in tougher leagues.
  8. anthony stokes scored 21 for hibs and he, my friend, is fukin pish.
  9. scholars maintain it was lost years ago... :P
  10. i'm one of lee's biggest critics, never thought he's good enough to play for rangers- but at least he can fucking pass a ball (albeit it mostly sideways). edu, on the other hand, is an absolute fucking disgrace. tonight was the last straw for me as far as he is concerned, there are no words to describe how poor he was.
  11. i did mention his age but that was not meant as a negative- just to add to the description ! his age has nothing to do with it, if your good enough then it does'nt matter. unfortunately lee is'nt good enough imo. and i dont think he's a good squad player as he is rotten up front, rotten on the wing, rotten at cb and average at best as a defensive mid. i said he was kept as we have desperately needed numbers over the last 2 years especially. don't know why you'd mention davie weir, he's been absolutely outstanding for rangers- pretty weird comparison to make there??! for what its worth i think edu is a equally poor, dont think either of them should be anywhere near the rangers team.
  12. dont get me wrong i like the guy and i do support him when he puts the jersey on. he has helped the squad over the last few seasons as he is able to play equally gash in a number of positions. had it not been for our financial difficulties over the last few years- and the need for numbers and versatile players ( if he even fits that description)- i think he would have been punted. now we have been taken over, we should not have to watch a 33 yr old striker play defensive midfield for us. he's a total plodder and i for one will not be sorry when we no londer have to play him in midfield. jamie ness showed more promise in 5 games last season than he has his entire time at rangers.
  13. here we go again, when are you gonna realize that this guy is not good enough to play centre mid for rangers. he's completely average- at a push. " captain material"? FFS.
  14. must have missed all these games where john terry has been getting caught out all the time. and since when did a players career take a mandatory nosedive??! cb's can play well into their late 30'3 , been proven at the top level time and time again. ffs look at our club captain!! last season was the first time we have seen him really struggle in any games and thats him in his 40's!
  15. think you dont watch chelsea much then mate, still 1 of the 3 best defenders in PL. EASY.
  16. imagine the goal celebrations we could have with lafferty and crouch in the same team??! would be like fukin robot wars!!
  17. SSN saying his move to forest has fallen through and rangers poised to sign him.
  18. see the hurt on commons' face in his post match interview???! " this makes up for the league" course it does kris. hurting much?!!!
  19. do you think he's better than edu and jig??
  20. wengers a good manager, he's just a stubborn, arrogant, french twat that refuses to spend decent money on a solid english centre half.
  21. yeah i cant see him being on much more tbh. i honestly dont believe he is one of their top earners (just now), he would have been on absolute peanuts at scunthorpe- did any other clubs even try to sign him??! i quite rate jim tbh but i just dont think someone coming from scunthorpe with 0 pl teams after him will be on a big wage. just emphasizing the point that decent players can be picked up for dcent wages. izagayboi was at some honduran club ffs and also previously had a failed trail at sum small side in england prior to his celtic move- theres no danger he'll be on a big wage at the scum, although i imagine he will be soon if they want to keep him.
  22. if hooper and izagayboy are on more than 10k a week id be very suprised. like someone said, you can pick up decent players for dcent wages. to the boy who inferred scunthorpe have the ability to pay higher wages than rangers and the scum- NAW.
  23. some of these threads are getting too funny like!!! fuking brilliant!!
