  1. although didn't like his comments when we showed interest earlier, i would take sandaza- he's a good footballer and i honestly think he would do well at rangers. would take him over say boyd (know he's signed elsewhere now) anyday. we would need him plus another though.
  2. think the fans will let their frustrations be known if lee walks back in this team once he recovers, and rightly so. it is so blantantly obvious to everyone that he hinders every player on the park when he plays. someone posted the stats the other day regarding results when he plays and when he doesn't, its incredible management haven't sorted this quicker.
  3. massive improvement, wallace having a great game. no lee in the team, hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
  4. hibs' defence is absolutely woeful, we shd put at least 3 past them at ibrox.
  5. was your dad jackin' aff and yer maw sat on at at the last second or someethin?? fanny.
  6. give the lad time, he's showed a lot of promise for his age imo- what he did against psv alone should encourage people to get behind the lad and give him time. heard the same pish 2 years ago about stevie naismith- he's no good enough, far too inconsistent- look at him now. oh, and how is this reptile waste still allowed to post on here?? you sir, are a cunt.
  7. what the fuck are you on about?? we got put out the league cup in 2006 by a first division club. get a grip.
  8. players of that calibre wouldnt come to the spl in the first place im afraid. think thats the whole point of this, even the portugese are a on a higher level than us. their international team and league are way stronger. we might have spent similar to them at some points but the calibre of player willing to go to them was/is way way higher in the first place. the boy they have up front is worth more than our entire squad ffs.
  9. and there team was still worth 20 times what our was
  10. really?? any proof of that? find that ridiculously hard to believe. i know they had had a team full of very skillful top european and south american players worth 50x more than our squad. off the top of my head victor baia, ferreira, carvalho, boswinga, deco, maniche. there's no comparison there- they had infinitely more resources available to them.
  11. portugese teams regularly sell players for 20 million plus every season and have far far stronger squads than us
  12. there should have been capital earmarked for decent investment in the team irrespective of european involvement imo- any proespective buyer of a big club should have that set- aside. however, as ive said before, i dont think he has much and we had no choice as no one else wanted to buy us. you're correct, he's a business man and businessmen don't throw money away. he was never prepared to really "invest" in the team, just use guaranteed incomes to fund his so called investment.
  13. the scum fans comments are hilarious, deluded is an understatement. having said that i don't expect many of them have ever read a book before let alone a law book.
  14. youve not even see mckay or bedoya play yet, they might be shite !! and lafferty is not as good a striker as miller.
  15. improved?? just because numbers have been brought in doesnt necessarily mean we ve been improved, we might have slightly more options though. who's replaced miller, weiss and diouff in terms of qaulity?? i think goian might look as though he can replace boogie but that looks about it with regards to plyaers that left. we have lafferty now instead of the spls top scorer and ortiz ( who looks absolutely fucking shocking by the way) instead of one of those wide players so thats definitely not improved, certainly not in an attacking sense anyway. defensive options have defintely been improved ill give u that and the midfield will depend upon what signings bedoya and mckay turn out to be like- that will be very important to our success i think. attack wise though, we're weaker.
  16. ur easily pleased then sir!! where did these 13 new signings come from? are we counting kerkar and healy as new signings? oh dear. they will be lucky if they play 5 games between them all season. seeing as the club cost him next to nothing, i think it is perfectly reasonable to expect a serious owner with serious ambitions of taking this club forward to spend 7 million. 7 million to buy a club the size of rangers and refresh a title winning squad with some quality- thats a bargain for any serious prospective owner of a massive football club. the truth is he doesnt really have much money and we had no choice. he should at least have had the foresight to spend the money on the squad now knowing that he would either recoup it through selling a big player at the end of the season or through european participation. oh, and neither naismith nor lafferty have demonstrated an ability to score 20 goals a season in the spl so i wouldnt be so quick to call them the second best strikeforce in the league. suppose lafferty and jelavic get injured, what now? healy and naismith?? aye, class.
  17. since when is 5- 7 million spending big??! when buying a club of our size and considering the amount of work that was required on the playing staff, youd think there would be a decent start up capital to get the required numbers and quality in. if someone had said to you before he bought the club he will only spend approx 1 million on the playing squad in his first tranfer window, would you be happy with that?? i would think that person was insane and that is not possible to assemble a title winning squad on such a pathetic amount given the work that was required. im bitterly disappointed in the business done in the window considering how optimistic i was when we had all those other bids in. now we find ourselves in a very precarious situation: if everyone hits form and stays fit we have a good chance but an injury like last year to jelavic and we're not winning this league with kyle lafferty and david healy up front, im sorry.
  18. i disagree, the team is the most important thing and required immediate investment. spending around a million on transfer fees is just not good enough considering the work that was required on the squad and i honestly think barring any further investment in jan, it will cost us the league. no ones asking him to pump millions in year after year, but it was obvious in the first year there was an essential need for decent investment in the squad- this should not have been dependent on european football. i want him to run the club within our means too, but there should have been capital up front to go directly towards the squad- 1 million is just ridiculous imo. the outgoing board warned people to make sure he lived up to his promises, so i can see why many are annoyed now- there was some truth in what they said imo.
  19. we had over 5 million pounds worth of additional bids in before european elimination then all of a sudden end up with boca at 400k so saying wages are included in the 5 million is him just covering his tracks imo. theres no way the 5 million investment in the playing squad was initially intended to include wages as well, that would be ridiculously ambitious. its obvious he intended to use future european revenue to fund the first years 5 million investment. it was obvious to everyone that the team needed immediate investment when he took over, he should have been prepared to spend some of his his own money at up front in order to sort the team out first and foremost. the team needed 5-7 million spent on it, its not a huge amount, spending approx 1 million doesnt cut it with me im afraid.
  20. a new owner of a club our size should have been prepared to invest a decent amount up front to appease the fans and demonstrate a serious capability of taking us forward as a club. im not saying its all bad so far but i was definitely expecting a bit more investment in the team- i think the million or so he has spent (taking into account sales) is pathetic tbh. correct me if im wrong but he bought the club for a pound, transferred the debt owed to lloyds to one of his companies, spent a million or so on the stadium and now a million or so investing in the playing squad making his total spending so far somewhere between 2-3 million. for a new regime coming into a club clearly needing a bit of investment, this is not good enough and i dont blame people for being upset now. a few weeks ago i was one of the people saying to the whyte- bashers give him a break look at the bids we have in currently for players (at that time goodwillie, juhasz and verhoek as well as an accepted cuellar bid), there is clear intention to invest in playing staff. then a week or so later we end up only with bocanegra at 400k. if going out of europe means there is suddenly no money for players it is clear that he had no intention of investing any of his own money in the squad but was hoping to fulfill his promises based on future european revenue, again not good enough for a new owner of a club our size imo. im prepared to give him time, as i said its not all bad so far- and there is still the jan transfer window too- but the last week or so has been very disappointing for me and i fear may have made retaining the title that bit harder.
  21. i think it could be a struggle this year, alot will depend on how good mackay and bedoya turn out to be imo- if they turn out anything like the standard of ortiz its hard to see this group of players getting it done this year.
  22. we are a wide player and a striker away from having a better team than last year, everyone can see that- its a shame the people that run the club can't despite making certain promises to the fans. im not overly confident about this season if i'm honest, lafferty and jelavic are going to have to hit form and stay uninjured for the season ( assuming we don't strengthen in jan) which is something that worries. lose jelavic for a similar period as we did last year and i dont think we will have the goals in the side to win the league.
  23. anyone who thinks we will sign players of a similar standard if either davis or jelavic (or both) are sold are kiddding themselves- it will be questionable loans or bargain basement stuff as we have seen all pre season. personally, i think if we sell either of them winning the league will be out of our reach. the optimism i felt from a few weeks ago has turned into disappointment, and unless something happens today with a couple of decent signings coming in, i would have to agree with all the guys who have questioned all along whytes intention/ability to invest and take this club forward. we have, in the space of days, gone from having bids in for juhasz, goodwillie and verhoek, to signing bocannegra for 400k and being told there might be no singnings today with the added insult of losing our most valuable asset. not impressed at all.
