  1. I think after a title is vacated, a new champion can then only be crowned if the no.1 and no.2 ranked fighters square off. If I'm not mistaken Bradley will now be the Ring mag champ.
  2. I hear what your saying but I don't think, as you acknowledge, he is being held soley responsible or that it has or will ever reach the point where people look elsewhere as long as he keeps winning.
  3. He might not be a bottler but that monkey on his back is getting heavier and heavier and can be really debilitating, just ask C. Montgomery.
  4. I actually don't think Bradley can be blamed too much for the butts in this instance at least. While he definitely bores in low, I don't see intention.
  5. Looked to me like Alexander wanted out. Looked skittish throughout, punched with no authority or commitment for the most part, "keep away" punches. I had Bradley well up. That headbutt should not have been enough to end the fight in my opinion, in fact it looked to me like Bradley came of worst. Couldn't open his eyes for the Doc? Skeptical.
  6. He'll get credit, to win a slam is a fucking monumental achievement regardless of who beat who. Mens tennis is bad ass at the moment. Not only that but if he manages to get the monkey off his back in a few hours, I think he flourishes from here on out.
  7. Ok mate. Yeah, I've heard him say that he thinks Khan is ordinary and he doesnt think he has to beat him to be the best 140lber I'd be very surprised to hear him say he therefore wouldn't fight him. There is actually an interview on that very site right now where he states otherwise.
  8. He beats Corley easy, where Madaina struggles, knocks Urango silly with one shot and stops Whitter. Don't get me wrong I think Bradley will win but to me it's razor thin and could go either way plus It was Alexander who chased Bradley, supposedly the best in the division so I'd love to see where he said he wouldn't fight Khan.
  9. No? What makes you think that? I don't get the impression that Alexander is the type to duck anyone.
  10. Don't think the styles immediately point to a classic as Bradley lacks power and Alexander can be content to sit behind his fast jab and actually be a bit one dimensional, but I'm hoping that both fighters obvious desire to make a statement is the overriding factor. I think both guys should be aware that a big win or an epic battle would catapult the victor into the Pac sweepstakes and potential mega-money. Incentive enough, surely.
  11. Some hilarious footage of norm stone, John Ruiz' former trainer. Mans a headcase.
  12. Ahahahaa!! The world has turned itself inside out, trying to be fuckin politically correct. Is every poor cunt so fragile and insecure these days that no-one can air their otherwise harmless personal views. I'm not a keys or Gray fan but it's a sign of the ridiculous times we live in.
  13. We have Cole, Ness, Hutton, Wylde and Fleck all champing at the bit looking for game time whenever possible, so surely the management team, who constantly bemoan our lack of squad depth, would use games which are dead and buried or games which are not of huge importance to rest weary, regular, first team members and provide vital experience for the youngsters. Common sense, no?
  14. Showtime has it's own ppv arm so that shouldn't be an issue, CBS is currently in 90 million homes, the advertising opportunities for such an event are clear. Floyd is however an HBO fighter, Pac is now over on a rival network this presents an extra obstacle. De la Hoya is a pretentious lying dick just like almost every other promoter, but Oscar wears fishnets which elevates him to fag status.
  15. The big news across the pond at the mo' is that Bob Arum has taken Pacman and Cotto from HBO to rival network showtime. Interestingly, the deal with showtime which is a subscription based channel includes a tie in with it's sister network CBS, which is free to air terrestrial. The exact details are still unknown but being suggested are build up programs and possibly delayed broadcasts of the fights themselves. I think this a great idea and would love to see boxing of some sort back on council telly in the uk, even a magazine program with highlights would be good.
  16. Big Kirk. I'd have him in the team before Whitaker every time.
  17. Half the arena? Fuck that just leaves the other 40 000 then lol. No seriously I think they always had intended to set the silverdome up for about 17 000. Still disastrous though. Putting all the big fights in Vegas is part of the problem I think mate. Selling out to the casinos too early doesn't allow them to build a good fan base at home.
  18. I'm taking Bradley as well, seems to show a better ability to make adjustments mid-fight than Devon, who ran out of ideas v Kotelnik after plan A went pear shaped. I like Devons speed and sharp jab though. On paper the styles don't suggest a great fight but I think both guys are hungry and should be aware this fight could be a springboard to much bigger things. I am looking forward to it. Last I heard they had sold under 400 tickets so far which is disastrous. Why it's in recession struck Detroit home of neither fighter is typical boxing madness.
  19. Well I'd Agree Tyson threw faster single shot power punches, but I disagree jabs are predominantly faster. The jab simply has the shortest distance to travel.
  20. The jab isn't only used for keeping opponents at arms length, but has many many uses hence the reason why it's widely accepted to be the most important of all punches to master. My point is the jab, the hook, uppercut etc etc are equal and no one is more difficult to learn tha the other. Ali had a faster and far better jab than Tyson, it's no use having a killer hook which you can't land. Who is Tysons best win, old man Holmes, Spinks? Btw the few times Buster was in shape and motivated he was bad ass. Too tall, jab too good, combos too much for any Tyson. Check him out.
  21. Nah. As you say spinks was terrified, the last punch that landed didn't land flush, Spinks wanted out, the version of Buster Douglas which beat Tyson did so on merit and would have defeated any version of Mike. Ali beats Mike 99 times out of 100 prime v prime, same as Holyfield, Lewis and Bowe would have as well if they'd fought. Tyson was exciting and ultra aggressive but lucky to be a top 15 all time heavy. If it is easier to learn to a fast jab than hook or upper why didn't super fast Tyson have a super fast jab?
  22. Why is it one thing to throw a fast jab? Jab being arguably the most important punch in the sport. Are you suggesting throwing a fast jab is easy? Ali threw faster combinations and had much faster feet than Tyson. Admittedly Tyson threw wicked hooks and uppercuts.
