  1. So sad. Thoughts and prayers with Thomas and his family.
  2. Terrible, awful news. Thoughts with his wife and family. Honduras sounds like a nightmarish place.
  3. This is not about McDowall, Llambias or Easdale. This is about the owner of an English team sending five reserves who have hardly kicked a ball for his team to Scotland and ordering the manager of Rangers to pick them, no matter what. That’s what this club has come to. It’s a very sad day.
  4. Most of the pubs in the Hampden area are closing after the game or are operating “regulars only” policies. Even those that are open will be shutting early. Best to check well in advance. I think the Montford is closing - it’s usually 50/50 but is right outside the Smellik end so it gets infested at big games. Best idea is to get as far away from Hampden as you can after the game.
  5. No. Dumbarton’s Lee Mair tried to clear Smith’s cross but knocked it off Daly’s chest and it rebounded into the net. The ball went nowhere near anyone’s hand or arm.
  6. If the midfield sits off Hearts they will dominate possession and find a way to score goals. They have struggled up front in the last couple of weeks but that’s due to Sow being out. I bet he’s back on Saturday. Hearts have wily customers in the centre of midfield in Gomis and Buaben. Pacy wingers in King and Walker. They get their full backs forward too. McCoist will have to send his team out to get in their faces from the first minute and stay there. Do we have the players to do that? The fitness and energy to do that? Bottom line is I see Macleod, Law and Black in the middle battling for possession and Miller on his own up front. Maybe even McCulloch pushed forward in front of the back four with Mohsni coming in at centre-half.
  7. Story is not in today's Sun, so it's complete made-up pish. Did nobody think it was suspicious when the story mentioned Durrant's credentials for the job as chief scot being the fact he identified Cribari, Peralta and Argyriou as good prospects? A Timmy wind-up. And a few fishies caught. Hook, line and sinker.
  8. That is a quite fascinating diagram from a historical point of view. But I can’t help feeling that God must look at something like that and burst out laughing. How can we make something so simple so complicated? Love God with all your might. And love your neighbour as yourself. That’s all there is to it. (Oh, and big Daly is a great asset to the side in a league where every team has a big clogger at centre half. He takes the battle to them and that creates space for the other attacking players. It’s not his fault if the build-up play has been unimaginative at times. He’s still a top-league player).
  9. Mr McMurdo could help us all out by letting us know who the person behind BPH (Blue Pitch Holdings) is. He seems to know. Why is he not telling us? PS: Is it Albertino Abela?
  10. The vast majority of professional football players only care about money. Loyalty to the club? Most don't give a toss. Fans? Most regard us as saps. If McGregor has something to say about Green, let him explain it. Or shut the fukk up.
  11. Apart from reporting that they have appeared in court and what the charges are the media can now say or write nowt about these particular cases until those accused are put on trial. During the trial, only what is said in court can be reported. It is only after the trial (whether convicted or not) that the media can give the full background - a lot of which may well be lifted from Facebook pages and the like. Scotland's "sub judice" rules are among the strictest in the world.
  12. Terrible news. Only positive is that Fernando has always been a fighter and always been a winner. Fight it all the way Fernando. Our thoughts are with you and your family.
  13. It's on the front page of The Scottish Sun today. And now that they have been charged, comment on their cases is forbidden due to the sub judice rules. Let's not give these people an importance they do not merit. Despite the prevalence of plastic paddies in Scotland we have been largely spared the level of sectarian violence that scarred Northern Ireland for 30 years and cost 3,000 lives. As far as I'm concerned, our police seem to be on top of the problem here.
  14. Was it not mentioned before that he worked with Craig Whyte's dad? Something to do with debt collection.
