  1. So sad. Thoughts and prayers with Thomas and his family.
  2. Terrible, awful news. Thoughts with his wife and family. Honduras sounds like a nightmarish place.
  3. This is not about McDowall, Llambias or Easdale. This is about the owner of an English team sending five reserves who have hardly kicked a ball for his team to Scotland and ordering the manager of Rangers to pick them, no matter what. That’s what this club has come to. It’s a very sad day.
  4. Most of the pubs in the Hampden area are closing after the game or are operating “regulars only” policies. Even those that are open will be shutting early. Best to check well in advance. I think the Montford is closing - it’s usually 50/50 but is right outside the Smellik end so it gets infested at big games. Best idea is to get as far away from Hampden as you can after the game.
  5. No. Dumbarton’s Lee Mair tried to clear Smith’s cross but knocked it off Daly’s chest and it rebounded into the net. The ball went nowhere near anyone’s hand or arm.
  6. If the midfield sits off Hearts they will dominate possession and find a way to score goals. They have struggled up front in the last couple of weeks but that’s due to Sow being out. I bet he’s back on Saturday. Hearts have wily customers in the centre of midfield in Gomis and Buaben. Pacy wingers in King and Walker. They get their full backs forward too. McCoist will have to send his team out to get in their faces from the first minute and stay there. Do we have the players to do that? The fitness and energy to do that? Bottom line is I see Macleod, Law and Black in the middle battling for possession and Miller on his own up front. Maybe even McCulloch pushed forward in front of the back four with Mohsni coming in at centre-half.
  7. Story is not in today's Sun, so it's complete made-up pish. Did nobody think it was suspicious when the story mentioned Durrant's credentials for the job as chief scot being the fact he identified Cribari, Peralta and Argyriou as good prospects? A Timmy wind-up. And a few fishies caught. Hook, line and sinker.
  8. That is a quite fascinating diagram from a historical point of view. But I can’t help feeling that God must look at something like that and burst out laughing. How can we make something so simple so complicated? Love God with all your might. And love your neighbour as yourself. That’s all there is to it. (Oh, and big Daly is a great asset to the side in a league where every team has a big clogger at centre half. He takes the battle to them and that creates space for the other attacking players. It’s not his fault if the build-up play has been unimaginative at times. He’s still a top-league player).
  9. Mr McMurdo could help us all out by letting us know who the person behind BPH (Blue Pitch Holdings) is. He seems to know. Why is he not telling us? PS: Is it Albertino Abela?
  10. The vast majority of professional football players only care about money. Loyalty to the club? Most don't give a toss. Fans? Most regard us as saps. If McGregor has something to say about Green, let him explain it. Or shut the fukk up.
  11. Apart from reporting that they have appeared in court and what the charges are the media can now say or write nowt about these particular cases until those accused are put on trial. During the trial, only what is said in court can be reported. It is only after the trial (whether convicted or not) that the media can give the full background - a lot of which may well be lifted from Facebook pages and the like. Scotland's "sub judice" rules are among the strictest in the world.
  12. Terrible news. Only positive is that Fernando has always been a fighter and always been a winner. Fight it all the way Fernando. Our thoughts are with you and your family.
  13. It's on the front page of The Scottish Sun today. And now that they have been charged, comment on their cases is forbidden due to the sub judice rules. Let's not give these people an importance they do not merit. Despite the prevalence of plastic paddies in Scotland we have been largely spared the level of sectarian violence that scarred Northern Ireland for 30 years and cost 3,000 lives. As far as I'm concerned, our police seem to be on top of the problem here.
  14. Was it not mentioned before that he worked with Craig Whyte's dad? Something to do with debt collection.
  15. One of the leaked emails seems to suggest it was two senior executives of Cenkos, the original nominated advisers to the company, who started the moves to get the board replaced. Which certainly explains why Cenkos were removed as NomAds. But why would a highly respected firm like Cenkos take such an extraordinary step? Speculation aside, and presuming this leaked email is true, is there anyone with a financial background here that could cast some light on this?
  16. So we have a director of Rangers Football Club being informed by someone that there is a "threatening" comment on Follow Follow. A forum he knows well. In fact, he has the phone number of the guy who runs it. In fact, he's phoned him a few times before. And if he phones him and tells them that a threatening post is on his forum, and police and legal action could be forthcoming, he'd be pretty sure that the "threatening" post would be removed. Pronto. And that afterwards, the police could get in touch with the owner of the forum and find out exactly what computer the email came from and whether charges could be pressed if the poster could be identified with any certainty. You know, the sort of thing that's happened a few times before on various forums. Even though the court cases have pretty much always fallen on their arse. But, naw. This Director is in such a state of "fear and alarm" for his family that his first call is to Jack Irvine. Whose next call is to Chris McLaughlin at the BBC. Then his pal McMurdo. Then to whoever it is that can put official statements out on the club website (presuming that Jack and Traynor aren't on speaking terms). And while you're at it, the bold (or is that toxic?) Jack tells his pals, make sure you smear as many other genuine Rangers fans who are worried about the current state of the club and the bona fides of the board. This may, or may not, be what happened tonight. But it sure as hell stinks.
  17. If Grandmaster Suck doesn't know what the "threatening" post was, nobody has reported it, nobody on here has seen it, then it is a mystery how this could have placed a director and his family "in a state of fear and alarm". Unless it was directly reported to him by someone who saw it and didn't think to alert the Moderators of Follow Follow. Now, here's a thought: Could the person who spotted this "threat" and reported it to the director be the same person who wrote it? All a bit of a handy way of doling out threats, trying to silence a hostile website and at the same time smearing genuine Rangers supporters who are holding a meeting to discuss their next step. Clearly a lot of Rangers supporters on here - fans just as passionate and loyal as those meeting tonight - do not agree with what Sons of Struth are doing. But, being genuine Rangers fans, they would not stoop so low as to report them to the police on either spurious or flimsy grounds and then inform the BBC before even attempting to contact the owner of the Follow Follow site. This stinks to high heaven. I can only conclude that those behind this stunt (meaning the report to the police, leak to the BBC and McMurdo, and only then an appalling official statement) do not have the long-term best interests of Rangers Football Club at heart. Which is very sad.
  18. Anyhow, getting back to Brian Stockbridge: If this supposed "story" is just tawdry tittle-tattle based on events that have nothing to do with the club's financial operations, I am not in the slightest interested and it will further diminish, in my eyes at least, the reputation of those who are attempting to further their own agendas with such underhand and unbecoming tactics. Brian Stockbridge has many questions to answer, but we won't see those answers until the club publishes fully audited accounts for the first time in three years. In my opinion, he is still the frontman for the Green/Ahmad/Rizvi faction and, if certain leaked documents are to be believed, he has been signing cheques that have allowed considerable sums of money to be transferred out of the club in what could charitably be described as "unconventional" circumstances. There is one simple way for my perhaps unfounded suspicions to be addressed and either confirmed or quelled. According to Brian Stockbridge's comments from a couple of months ago, fully audited accounts should have been published by now. Where are they? That's what we should be asking. It is sad and somewhat infuriating that instead of focusing on the basics that some fans are more intent in fomenting division and peddling trashy rumours. So let's: 1. Support the team as one this weekend, with no divisive chants. 2. Ask serious questions as one if there is no sign of audited accounts by next Tuesday. Agreed?
  19. The whole point of Paul Murray and Frank Blin attempting to get on to the board was that they had no confidence in how Stockbridge and Mather (and their puppetmasters) were running the club. Specifically, they wanted Blin to check the books forensically to find out where the IPO cash had vanished to. Now the "compromise" seems to be that Blin and Murray will accept non-executive places on a board where they will be outvoted on every major issue and still denied full access to the books of the club and associated companies. What's more, before they collect their club ties they will have to declare that they have full "confidence" in how the current board is running things. If they accept that, then this whole "Recquisition" drama will have been exposed as a sham and they will have been exposed as self-serving toads devoid of integrity. On the other hand, if they reject this ultimatum and demand that the EGM goes ahead when stated (regardless of the delaying tactics of Mather and Stockbridge as regards the AGM date and publishing of full audited accounts) then at least they will have stuck to their original intentions. So what is it to be, Frank and Paul: Club Tie or Integrity?
  20. Who on the current Rangers board could be appointed to the SFA? Who on the current Rangers board could we guarantee will even be there a year from now? Rangers have to sort out Rangers first. Then the SFA.
  21. Bottom line here is that Saturday is all about supporting the team. Keep any shows of dissent out of the stadium. Time and a place.
  22. On one side is Walter Smith, Alistair McCoist, Jim McColl, Paul Murray, Alistair Johnston - all lifelong Rangers fans. On the other side is Charles Green and his dubious associates, both known and unknown. Which side has the best interests of Rangers Football Club closest to their hearts? It's that simple.
  23. With his comments about more finance being needed, it wouldn't surprise me if certain factions are pushing for a new share issue at some point next season. That's a complicated thing to organise, so Walter will want to step back at that point.
