Thats one hell of a defeatist post right there.

If they want to line up in protest then they should do it to the board to force action from them - thats what the board is there for, to sort legal and financial trouble, and for me - their currently getting an easy ride for their wage

    Whos wages mate?

The board have tried to renegotiate the retail deal, Ashley isn't for budging, how would you suggest they improve matters?

They asked the fans to hold back buying retail till it gets sorted, some simply refuse to listen to them tho. Which is their prerogative of course.

As long as they know its against the will of the board that's fine, but don't ask how they are trying to improve things if you refuse to stand with them on this.

We have no idea how hard they are working at resolving the financial constraints put in place by previous placemen on our board, it's easy to presume nothing is being done as everything is being done behind closed doors but that's down the the confidentiality agreement that's in place.

According to Kings interview yesterday things seem to be progressing well on all fronts so time will tell on that.

One thing I'm not is a defeatist, I will try absolutely anything at all if it might help make us successful again, if it means doing without merchandise for a year I'll do it, if it means buying a ST for my old man when he probably wont be fit for attending games I have, if I need to buy all the away games on RTV while live on sky I will.

Wanting rid of the retail deal isn't defeatist, it's pushing for positive change to benefit out Club, I think that's pretty clear.

Our problem seems to be we have, a year down the line, no scouting network.

We are still signing players that Warburton knows from Watford/Mk Dons/ Brentford or guys who are clients with agents that Mcparland is pals with.

Yeah agreed, also it's clear there's an imbalance in the side. We need to strengthen the back line badly, but whoever comes in needs to be an improvement, this is where it is difficult because Kiernan and Wilson both have the potential to do well, but are tragically inconsistent to the point of complete frustration.

If we could find a  bougie again we'd have a right good chance at 55 this season.

Of course there is uncertainty, but at least it's good to see the club haven't done as you hoped for and raised the white flag of Surrender to Ashley.

Blue Avenger has no problem bending the knee to Ashley, he positively drooled when he thought Ashley had got the better of King when he had his lawyers serve King his indictment down at shirebrook.

He's the resident Walter Mitty character, an in your face loyalist without a so much as a loyalist thought in his head.

I do believe that such players are available, or at least, exist; they are just waiting to be "discovered" as it were, a-la-Jim Holton. I hope, and I also hope that we get to them first.  At least now we have a scouting system and that is something we have not had for a long time. It's a long road that has no turning.  We'll get there.

We really need to start developing more youth players, unless there's a massive shift in the financial rewards for doing well in Scotland we will struggle badly to compete with even 'lesser' leagues for good players.

I believe we will get there too, but it's undoubtedly going to be a bumpy ride at times and our fan base is hardly known for its patience!

I think we can afford it.  The question is: are we willing to spend it?

And are they available? Because if they are for 2 or £3m then what's to stop another club trumping us in wages?

Even a championship club for instance could offer double the wages/incentives we can nowadays. Sadly.

The media reported his made up figures so it doesn't really matter how much credit you give him you read the rags and took it as acurate figures even though there's bo evidence of it.

No I don't think he reads the Record and don't think he gives a fuck if someone says we only get 4p in the £. If anything it makes him look like the god of retail to hid shareholders.

So let's be clear, you asked where the figures came from and were shown a Google result for 'Rangers retail deal' that had every article backing up the figure, you then said it's all Craig Houston's work, when asked why fat lad does nothing about the figures within all the different articles that show his company as a bunch of cunts, you reply it's because he doesn't read he papers.

Does that about sum it up mate?

Eh aye he does actually he was never out the media at the heigyt of all this. Probablyat mike doesn't read the shite that you are taking your info from and he doesn't actually give a shit. The Record have quoted 4p and 7.5p... lol.

You give CH more credit than I would, I give you that. ;)

But come on, do you seriously believe that shite you just posted?

'Litigation' Mike has no idea what's printed in the media up here...

    Seriously?

I'll run out of face palms at this rate.

One wonders what happened to the sentiment from our support of we don't need to spend cash to win the leagues? We just need a good coach! Or how the club must never put itself in financial peril again?

Or even showing some patience as both MW and King have said there will be new faces before the end of the transfer window?

While previous events have led us to be suspicious of boards and management, and we should remain vigilant, at some point we need to trust and believe in those leading the club - MW and King for me are earning that right.

Many of the same people want King to buy fat Mikes retail deal out too, i think they quite simply struggle to make a distinction between the Clubs chairmans duties and the Clubs.

It's down to the Club as a whole to improve on every aspect of what we are doing, not just the Chairmans responsibility to bail us out . He quite simply isnt a roman abramovich that can throw silly amounts of money around, we need to be sustainable first and foremost.

The sales figures of less 3 quid for every £60 of sales have been in the widespread media? Really? Do give us some links.

Have you tried googling "Rangers retail deal"?

I just did and all the top articles suggest 4p in the £, wonder why that figure is never challenged?

    Any ideas?

    Edit to add link,

can someone explain what the hoped outcome of this would be? Do these people actuall think ashley gives a fuck, he had the tops manufactured for a few quid and sells them for upward of £40, he's never losing money on this deal so he's not going to cancel it. If he was he would be sat round a table with King.

It's a pointless exercise further dividing support, what is club1872's statement on this? Or are they waiting on the admin at Ibrox to give them the statement?

If Kings serious about ousting the fatman he will have to buy him out, simple as.

Dave King won't be buying Ashley out, we would be, Rangers fans.

Why don't we just settle with Ashley or let the retail deal run another 6 years till it expires?

Other than the fact it gives the tarriers a massive financial advantage over us for that same period, which if they convert it to league titles will take them to 11 in a row.

That ain't so bad now is it?

You are trolling a thread that has nothing to do with you one you want me to read and explain to you. Trolling.

Pm me rather than spoiling the thread if you have more to say.

Who the fuck put you in charge of the thread you fuckin weirdo lol

If you`d just answer the question we could move on, his accusation was made publicly on this very thread & so that`s why it should be cleared up here too imo.

Your reluctance to clarify tells its own story. Oh and btw, you clearly don`t understand what a troll is ffs ;)

OK, so legally we were able to withdraw the use of our official trademarks so Puma couldn't release our strips regardless of what their contract was before? that's pretty big news then. Maybe I should start paying more attention to the boardroom section.

One thing I will say, though, is that every legal battle Rangers have entered with Sports Direct/Ashley/a few others I think we've won so we've a pretty good record. Proof will be in the pudding if we are in the right or wrong.

Yeah mate, I really doubt we`d be taking Puma and SD on if it wasn't a battle we think we will win. Also as MM says Puma & SD`s contracts are with rangers retail(Ashleys proxy company) anyway, so he`d end up essentially suing the company he uses to fleece our Club of the retail income.

Things should get interesting over the next week or so.

  13. 5 minutes ago, K.A.I said:

How do they need our permission if they already have a contract to manufactuer our strips?

When we paid fat lad back his 5m loan we got our IP rights back & then basically pulled their right to use it. Sports Direct have clearly bawsed up the contract, after seeing their legal teams performances in court against us, King and the SFA i`m not entirely surprised tbh.

Its left puma and SD down on their production costs and forced their hand somewhat to try and recoup their outlay, i`m thinking this is exactly what the Clubs legal team were waiting for ;)

  14. Just now, K.A.I said:

Oh that's interesting but again, am I missing something? how can you release a strip anyway with the official club crest? all this will have been in the contract that Puma originally signed?

They need our permission to sell the items produced as it contains our property(the badge), they may have the contract to produce it but the right to sell branded items is given by the IP holder(us).

    Just now, linfield1690 said:

Why doesn't rangers make their own Orange top without puma and sell shitloads

Because Puma have the contract to produce our merchandise. It`s fucked up I know, but we can only assume that puma and sports direct are basically just cutting the Club right out the picture to see what our response will be.

My view from the start is that if they go on a shelf or a website by whoever, then it will be up to the club to serve an injunction to stop the sales. I'm still going with this view.

Can only think that this will give us some wriggle room to try and ditch the retail deal

    1 minute ago, K.A.I said:

How are they justified by serving an injuction? what right do they have? on which grounds?

They are selling goods using our badge (intellectual property) without permission.
