I personally couldn't wait for VAR as I knew it would correct some of their soft decisions and so it has proved - that they think VAR is being unfairly implemented says more about their victimhood mentality than it does for their capacity for rational thought. "Wur getting less decisions!!! VAR is corrupt maaaan!" Exercise your brain Declan - why might it be that you are getting less decisions and why might it be that VAR is correcting on field decisions in your games...... FWIW, I thought it would be about neutral for us as I've seen us get both ends of the stick. I think that's the way it's panned out so far.

I've had a few celtic fans saying things like "we are the only club to have had consistently over-turned decisions since VAR came in" and "VAR is Rangers friend". They absolutely fail to comprehend that this illustrates that celtic (pre/without VAR) were/are getting decisions FOR them and that VAR is correctly amending those bad decisions. Ergo, they were getting things FOR them that they shouldn't have got and now technology is highlighting that previous bias.

I'll give you Lowry although I noticed you left out Cantwell. We are quite clearly going for a 4231 type set up so for those 3 positions, I'm just not seeing where Hagi gets a game if Cantwell, Tillman, Kent, Sakala and Lawrence are around. Perhaps the hope is that Hagi takes over from Tillman after the loan spell but given that Tillman has shown more in his time than Hagi pre injury, it would weaken those options, not strengthen them. I'm not against Hagi staying, he could be a useful squad player, but he's not taking us up a level. Like with any negative view of a player, being wrong would be to Rangers betterment so I'd be delighted to eat humble pie on it.

Even though I think he's vastly over-rated, he's a decent player. That's it. So I can see why, at his age, and with his profile, he'd get a contract, but it's not like we are building our future around him either or we wouldn't have Cantwell and Lawrence and Lowry and perhaps Tilman. I also think that contract is also to ensure that if any interest does come in, we get a decent return - as you pointed out.

Just shows how some players polarise supporters. I think he's criminally over-rated. He's ok, he's competent. I think he lives off his name though. In particular, his lack of pace makes him one dimensional and since he doesn't hold off players the way Tilman does or particularly play killer passes, I'm not seeing what else he has. Just IMO.

The Sands sub was a straight swap into midfield so shouldn't, on paper, have influenced the game. However, he isn't as mobile and is certainly more negative and simply isn't as talented as the other midfielders so I don't have same faith in him to be able to simply keep ball by keeping it moving and not giving them a look in. I don't blame Beale for that sub as it shouldn't have mattered versus 10 men. The Tillman for Morelos was also a reasonable sub. Morelos was on a booking. I'd actually also have taken Kent off for Wright for same reason. Was strange that Wright wasn't playing given he did the presser. What I would say is that it was absolutely a foul in build up to their 2nd goal and IMO, in England, that is looked at and chalked off for a foul. We also look so soft on the left side of our defence though - in fact whenever a team gets at us, we never look "set".
