theres no way id take scholes to the euros , he would severley hamper their chances imo . yes , hes done well for united since coming out of retirement , but hes playing in a team superior to most hes facing where they have most of the posession and where he can control the game . that will not happen in the euros . england will be outplayed when they come up against the better teams in the competition , spain , germany , holland , even france , portugal or italy would have more posession of the ball should the teams meet imo . when england play against better teams their best bet at winning the game is to play hard working , mobile players in the midfield who can try and put the opposition out of their rhythm then hit on the counter attack with pace on the flanks . scholes would end up getting frustrated chasing shadows against the better sides and would end up getting sent off (we all know how poor his tackling is) . hes had a huge influence on united since returning , and as much as i hate to say it , the decision to take him back has probably won them the league , but imo he would not have anywhere near the same effect on england this summer .
