Bollocks! This is one of the most complex takeovers of a club I've ever seen, apart from the Whyte deal probably, and look how long that took. There's many factors to be taken under consideration that most of us can't possibly comprehend. Patience lads.

I've never really had a problem with TBK's bid. Barely seen one argument against them that is of actual substance. Right enough, not many solid reasons why they are our saviors either. Except from the fact that they are a bunch of rich, well known businessman who are all likely to be Rangers fans. The ticketus thing doesn't bother me too much either, in fact even seems sensible from the point of view that they will want to club to succeed so they can get their money back. At the end of the day, if Craig Whyte goes and these guys step in, that's a huge positive from my perspective.

All valid arguments, I still think they could just about do it though. If we keep pushing, challenge European courts perhaps, we may get our way. It would certainly help our cause if the other teams were in favour of it, or even blocking us from re-entering the league. Then again that would open a whole new can of worms

They might need us at the moment, but say for example one particular year this atlantic league's beginning and the other teams get notice of us leaving. The teams could restructure over summer, get a shite TV deal, and in general financially plan for the shortfall. If more fans turned up than usual, fantastic. If not, they would have a slightly shitter team in exchange for a chance at winning their own league, is that a sacrifice most teams would be willing to make, you never know.

Add to that this: I just get the feeling that most Scottish fans don't give a shit about the old firm anymore, and there is evidence (see above) that they could handle it without us. If we do get into real shit and the other clubs don't let us back in, we may be able to force our way into another league. The only way Celtic could probably handle that was if they agreed to come with us. If the fans forced the clubs owners to say "Fuck the Old Firm" and they decide to go it alone, in theory everyone could win. They would get a more competitive league and us and Celtic could go off to pastures new and earn some real cash

Also posted it in the Aberdeen thread but thought it could do with it's own thread: The SPL's TV deal is £80 million over 5 seasons = 16 million a season. If you divide that among 12 clubs equally it equals £1.33 million per club per season. Say for example the Old firm left the SPL and they lost the TV deal, you would think that be awful for them right? Maybe not. If a team's average attendance went up 3,000 (think that's reasonable) because they would actually have a chance of winning the league, would this lost TV money be made up through the extra fans in the door? If it did, their gate receipts did increase by 3,000 => (3,000 * £15 ticket price * 38games) = an extra £1.7 million per season. If you add in other match day profits i.e. food, programmes etc and minus expenses that would probably make up about the same as the TV money. So do they need us or do we just think they do?

I'm sure ESPN would take them and would pay them like 500k each or some pish. The other teams would probably gain more viewers as well if their teams were fighting for the league. The point is I don't think other fans in Scotland would give two fucks if they lost the old firm. Better for us too if something like the Atlantic league were to take shape.

Yeah don't get me wrong I'm not trying to undermine their efforts either but the reason they did it is because they are lucky enough to be in a position to do so. Most people simply could not.

Ok, so you might need to make some short term sacrifices, but in the long run you'll be fine, you're income is still great. Some people's entire lives would be ruined if their wages got cut by 75%. How can you make the comparison? God, if the player's lives were going to be so bad, do you think they would have accepted it in the first place?
