  1. For me

    McGregor

    Tav

    Goldson

    Katic

    Flanagan

    Jack

    Davis

    Kamara

    Ojo

    Candeias

Morelos if fit, if not defoe

Some controversial picks in mine... I don't believe it's our best 11, but I trust that 11 to not put on a horror show.

I also think candeias looked sharp today,  he played for 60 mins so I don't think he'll play. However, we know what he can do.

Same with Flanagan, away from home, I don't trust Barisic or halliday defensively. We should beat this lot whoever we pick....

    Who would you pick?

Don't know why these threads crop up in June when the window closes September so much can change

I get that, also don't think we are done, just curious as to how folk view the signings thus far.

  3. Are you happy with our signings thus far?

    Edmundson - 700k

    Hastie -350k

    Aribo - 300k

    Jones - free

    Stewart - free

    Davis - free

    Ojo - loan

pretty low key,  but I'm fairly happy. The 3 we've paid for I have high hopes about.

Jones, I'm unsure, seems a bit hit or miss, hope I'm wrong.

Stewart the same, but I recognise that with Dundee and Killie he showed some quality, hopefully proven wrong.

    Davis - quality

Ojo - hopeful, Gerrard knows him, so confident that he will do well.

  4. Presuming we stick with the tactics towards the end of the season

Three from Jack Davis Kamara, Arfield and aribo

Two from Ojo, Jones, Candeias, Stewart and Arfield

Basing this on Hastie, Middleton and mccrorie going on loan.

Holt, dorrans and grezda look like they are on the way out

The likes of halliday, rossiter and Murphy surely won't get much game time? Especially if Kent comes in. Think candeias will have a reduced role this season too.

    Question is....

Is that midfield good enough to win the league?

    That's superb

I keep thinking about ordering that pi retro console but don't believe it'll be as good as I remember

Not sure what pi retro console is mate, but don't be mugged into buying a rip off 3rd party offer.

    Raspberry pi 3b+ 35 quid

SD card  tenner ish (depending on size)

Controllers - depends what you are after

Case - if you want one

A lot of companies selling images of retropie, which is free.

I'm a bit addicted to this, probably spend more time tinkering than playing the games 😂

  6. This has cracked me up 😂

Folk moaning about a position where we are absolutely solid and have 3 keepers in Alnwick, Wes and shagger. 2 young goalies in firth and mccrorie who could be 3rd choice and look like decent prospects.

Comfortably the best goalkeeping options in the league and folk still aren't happy.

For the op, unless someone leaves the order is

    1. McGregor

    2. Fod

    3. Alnwick

    4. Firth

    5. Mccrorie

Maybe Alnwick and Firth swap round. Would expect Alnwick to go and we'd still be comfortable

Wallace could have gon on to better jig couldn’t that’s the difference

Wallace at one point was linked with Nottingham forest. Remember jig being linked with a move to the bundesliga.

Where they could have went is irrelevant. They wanted to be here so they stayed. They were loyal. Still doesn't mean either should get a testimonial

  8. 7 minutes ago, Cedrick said:

Coz jig was McCoist’s mate and was getting a fortune playing against boys off the nightshift that no other manager or club would even remotely considered giving him

Wallace was also getting paid a fortune too and has had 2/3 good seasons for us.

Jig had some good moments with us too and wanted to stay to help us get up. He stayed when others left. Same as Wallace.

The point is testimonials are about service, not ability and jig gave just as much to this club as Wallace.

Bottom line is neither deserves a testimonial. They should be commended for staying (Can't criticise folk for walking out and at the same time criticise those that stay 😂) but that's it.

  9. Here's my thoughts. Lee wallace is a legend and he deserves all the praise he gets.

Does he deserve a testimonial... No.

If he deserves a testimonial, why wouldn't say Lee McCulloch? Because we chose to release him prior to the season in the spl? Could argue Wallace has done nothing in Europe and jig was part of a team that got us to a European final.

We chased him out the club when we dropped down to division 3.  In hindsight, he could’ve done a job for us all the way back up the divisions.  The amount of shite CBs we signed in Cribari, Kieran, Cardoso, Senderos, etc.  Millions wasted.

Not saying Broadfoot is an amazing player.  But, he can play all across the back 4 and would’ve been more than adequate in terms of working up the divisions.

Pretty sure he asked to leave

  11. What's he done? Other than his usual shithousery on the pitch?

Btw how has he become such a rock in defence. Mind he came to us and he could barely kick a ball. We turned him into a right back because he wasn't trusted to play his 'natural' position.

To think we got to a European final with him in the team is some achievement. That said he did a job for us and left in the right way, so I can't totally slate him.

  12. Another concern for me is Jones, Hastie, Stewart are coming in and I'm not sure any of them improve us.

Probably most excited for Hastie tbh but he's barely kicked a ball. Jones might do it, Stewart is pretty inconsistent but has ability.

I suppose anyone is better than grezda. Murphy I still hope can come back. I like candeias but I think he's coming to the end of his Rangers career. Wouldnt replace him with jones, Hastie or Stewart right now though

The young LB from Liverpool is Adam Lewis.  We enquired about him before he signed his new contract with Liverpool.  Gerrard’s on record saying he’s a big fan.  Always a chance of getting him on loan.

Never heard of him, but not adverse to a loan deal.

Real problem area as I don't trust any of the three over a season as first choice.

    Good point

Flanagan, started ok, fell apart, bombed completely from the squad, decent since coming back in. Love that he's no nonsense.

Barisic, looked world class against us, bar a couple of decent crosses hasn't done anything for us.

Halliday probably the most consistent. Concerned that when he played DM for us he looked decent for a while then looked completely lost.... Is he doing the same thing but just in another position?

I think those numbers are very generous. Backup player at best.

Agree to disagree 👍 well to a point anyway... I guess that depends on who is brought in. If N'golo Kante wants a move, he'd maybe just have the edge 😂

  16. Just now, Inigo said:

Disappears in too many games. Like this one.

He's had a few games where that's happened, I won't disagree and he's not the type of midfielder who is going to win us a lot of games on his own... I.e he's not an arfield who gets into the box or a Davis who can pick a pass.

However without him, who else do we have that can give the likes of dicker and power as good as they get. Not even sure Kamara matches them in that respect. I also believe he offers more than that and in some of our European games he was outstanding.

Jack has a purpose in out team and at least 8 times out of 10 I reckon he delivers.

We keep getting more wrong than right though and it’s a worry.

Garner, Dorrans, Pena, Herrera, Cardoso, Grezda, Barasic all signed for decent money since we came back to the top flight and all have flopped.

Morleos, Goldson & Katic have looked good but we really need to work harder to make sure we get better value for money when we start spending £1,000,000 plus on players.

I actually think garner was unlucky in that Warburtons style didn't suit him. However your point is right. Big fee signings have not worked in our favour.

At least Gerrard had Goldson and Katic work out. We need Kent imo, so that should be another.

Maybe the argument is we need to use the loan system more to understand who is going to fit in. At one point we thought coulibaly and Barisic were world beaters. At the same time Kent was struggling. It's all turned around now.

  18. A must signing for me next season.

I'd sell Barisic for whatever we can get, (I'd swap him for a twix, packet of skips and a can or irn bru.)

Wallace - is off, legend but performances haven't been up to the level required for a long time.

Halliday - squad player at best, as the seasons gone on, I think he's probably behind Flanagan as back up lb imo.

Who would you sign? Ive had a look and couldn't find many who we might sign..

From who I know, I'd pick Greg Taylor. My one concern is Killie play such a rigid formation and we play much more fluidly - would he fit in. I feel if he can maintain his performances he'd be better than what we have

Max Lowe is an option, I like him, but I'm not sure if he's better than what we have.

Olsson has just been released by Swansea, but is getting on a bit.

Erik Durm at Huddersfield has a decent pedigree and is a German international and again is out of contract.

Alberto Moreno out of contract at Liverpool, surely paid too much to be an option.

Reece James at Sunderland is a decent left back but has had injury problems.

I feel it's a position we badly need to improve and other than Lowe, we've not really been linked to signing anyone. Hopefully it's on our radar and our scouting network can pick out better names than the names above 😂

Showed nothing atall in all his time here

The best performances we've seen from remain the 2 games for Osijek.

I was one of those guilty of thinking he was a player based on those games.

    Boys shite.

Cunts need to get a grip,  he's a Fucking Rangers player end off

Not really getting why that means folk need to get a grip?

He's shite. Needs to leave while we can still claw back some money for him.

At fault for both goals today and been useless all season
