  1. Flano and Davis were the two that stood out to me. Thought Goldson was having an immense game before that pass. Also think Gerrard's right too, as bad as that pass was. We should have dealt with it so much better

That 50/50 he shat out of straight away was embarrassing.

Was about to comment on that. He should get fined for that incident alone. Dreadful. If that was Jon Flanagan, he'd have taken the ball, brown and anyone else in the way

  3. He was tremendous. Couple of challenges. One where he stood back on the left kind of retreated and went in with a full hearted, throwing everything at it the way that Flanagan does. He then played it forward and started a potential counter attack.

The challenge in the box was immense and for that challenge alone he deserves praise. His place to lose imo.

Hopefully it’s not just a lucky few games we’ve had because that’s a brilliant trait for any team to have.   Cannae mind the last time I’ve felt we’re gonnae do something from a corner.

Hope it continues... We've been absolutely brutal at corners for years.

Mind folk were wetting themselves over Barasic.... Albeit katic had been a great buy. If Katic keeps improving the signing of him, Barasic and Grezda will have been very good business.

Not sure how Grezda and Katic compare to Barisic? Grezda didn't play against us for Osijek and Katic was signed before this and played for a different team?

Like the look of the RB and CB as folk have said... But then I thought Borna looked like a top drawer lb against us....

we showed the same frailties as last year

    profligate in front of goal

    a bombscare when ran at

light in midfield when closed down

an annoying habit of dropping the tempo and knocking the ball about, side to side, for large chunks of a match

positive is we have greater depth

last night was a carbon copy of last season

Think that's very harsh. Start of last season in Europe we had a few nervy wins where we were keeping clean sheets because of McGregor.

Last night we were berating the fact that we didn't get more goals because barring a couple of incidents we were all over progres.

We should have had 4 or 5 last night imo

    World class against us 😭

He looked a class above as good a player as I'd seen against us in a long time.

He caused us more problems than any Spartak, Villarreal or Rapid Vienna player..  and that's from left back.

  8. Actually have so many mixed thoughts on Borna. Thought he looked world class against us. That left peg was unbelievable.

Has vastly underachieved since he's been here. I'd say Halliday was our best lb last year, Flanagan next and then Borna. Despite this I believe Borna is the most talented lb at the club.

I think he would be 3rd choice lb for Croatia if everyone is fit, despite that, shouldn't be lost that he's playing regularly for them. They are s good side and that shouldn't be understated. I've read some Croatian fans mention they believe this is their weakest position.

All of that being said. Borna for me needs a full season under him, it would be silly to invest and give up now.

But you could also argue that Warburton signed Tav, Fod, Halliday who are or have been vital players for us for peanuts.

Rossiter hasn’t worked, but he’s the type of player who’ll have a good season at Fleetwood and sign for a top 6 Championship side within a couple of years.

I get the gamble with most of the signings our managers have made. I even understand Pena and Herrera. If they don't work out the manager carries the can.

Warburton signed some players who did well for us, I'd add Holt, windass and waghorn to the list too. He also signed some duds in Barton, kranjcar etc where he's admitted himself he felt the pressure to sign those names.

The likes of o'halloran, dodoo and  kiernan didn't work out too well, but Warburton in the championship did ok signing wise, unfortunately he didn't improve us in the premier League and the rest is history.

Nice bit of skill, but going to cite: "Let’s give the guy a good fucking 10 games before we make any comment, I remember cunts this time last year lauding Coulibaly like he was Makalele ffs. "

    BlueMe, 2019.

Don't think anyone is saying that he's done anything other than a nice bit of skill?

It's clear he's a kid with potential and that's about it.

Also with regards to Coulibaly, yes his initial performances probably caused a bit of over excitement, however those early performances for us were outstanding, do it's easy to see why.

Lastly pretty sure judging someone on 10 games isn't enough and that's exactly what we did with Coulibaly.

Warburton can't be blamed for this. You're lying if you say you weren't excited when we signed him. It just didn't work out due to injuries, shame he never got the chance to properly develop. Wish him well.

I liked this and get what you're saying, but excitement or not, he like many other Warburton signings didn't work out.

Managers are judged on the players they bring in, he like many others Warburton signed flopped.

Most were excited by cardoso, alves, herrera and pena... If they don't do it on the pitch then the manager will be judged, i get the reasons differ, but Warburton picked a player with now injury problems who couldn't stay fit, so in my eyes he is accountable for the signing.

We needed quality in that number 10 position/ playmaker , the lack of creativity cost us the league last year.

Kent is gone,Morelos future still up in air, and Still a heavy reliance on Arfield, who struggled in second half of last season until the last six games.

A Liverpool loanee winger and a Guy who couldn’t get a game for Kilmarnock isn’t an improvement.

    1. Did you say the same thing about Kent on arrival as you did Ojo? Why can't Ojo be as good? I'm not saying he is btw, but also dont think you can rule anything out at this stage.

    2. Jones couldn't get a game? Or Stewart? Both played regularly so not really following the logic there.

    3. Don't know which arfield you were watching but I thought he was excellent all season. His role changed the latter part to get him further forward, but he was a great addition last season. The midfielder who struggled up to the last 6 games of last season was Davis, who wasn't match sharp, at the end of last season he was immense.
