  7. I recon if we could get into the epl we would attract top players as we have an amazing stadium and training facilities just not the funds or the leauge to attract them at the present time, if we did get into england we would have to start at the very bottom and work our way up because what lower leauge club is gona vote for 2 new teams to be automaticly promoted above them? then the issue is keeping a hold of good players on lesser wages to ensure getting promotion every year. The atlantic leauge sounds good but who can afford going abroad every other week to follow their team? an option would be for the teams in it to possibly subsidise travel by chartering planes etc for season ticket holders but how long would it be before that leauge gets boring with no promotion or relegation unless they started an atlantic leauge cup for the teams left at home in the spl etc to try and win promotion into the leauge. If we do get into a new leauge I think the spl might benefit from it as those who would normaly go to home and away matches might start going to see their local team and have their local team as their "scottish team"

  11. The identity of the man whose left arm was amputated after he was run over by a train at Perth railway station on Sunday has been revealed. Garry Geddes, 21, from Buckie, was returning home after watching Rangers defeat Aberdeen at Ibrox on Sunday evening when the "tragic incident" took place. After missing his bus home he decided to travel back to Moray by train with two friends. It is understood that Mr Geddes, who works for Buckie firm Moray Firth Windows, had stepped off the 9.45pm train from Glasgow to Aberdeen when it stopped in Perth station. While trying to reboard, he slipped and fell beneath the moving carriage. A witness to the accident said the train travelled a few hundred yards before coming to a halt. Mr Geddes was described as being in a stable condition at Dundee’s Ninewells Hospital. The accident is especially tragic as it is understood that the window fabricator severed the tendons in his right wrist last year during a work-related accident. A spokesman for British Transport Police said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident. He added: “A 21-year-old man from Buckie slipped and fell from the platform and under the train. He suffered a severe injury to his left arm and was taken to Ninewells.” A ScotRail spokesman added: “We are cooperating fully in the investigation into this tragic incident.” In Detail: • Man has arm amputated after slipping onto train tracks Hope he recovers as well as he can after this :disappointment:

  20. :davis: Skysports.com understands Rangers star Steven Davis has agreed a new deal to stay at Ibrox. Rangers have been in talks with the Northern Ireland international for the last few weeks about a contract extension. The Scottish champions have already agreed new deals with Steven Whittaker, Allan McGregor and David Weir this summer and Davis is set to follow suit. Davis has established himself as a key member of the Rangers side since his arrival from Fulham in 2008. The former Aston Villa and Fulham man, whose current deal has just a year to run on it, is believed to have agreed a three-year extension with Rangers and will put pen-to-paper next week.
