Can't believe I'm typing this as:

    1. it will never happen. and

    2. I've always been in the 'stop this chat' when its mentioned as he's clearly not a winger, but I would genuinely play Sterling right back against them at the piggery, and given our lack of wide options, put Tav wide right and just put him against Taylor.

Watching Tav just now I'm convinced if he plays against them he will cost us a goal (probably in first half) and will be targeted, he's just getting caught far too much defensively, especially early doors. And I think their game plan is to get in about Tav and Goldson when they play us to disrupt our play. So Balogun in, and remove him as a weak link for a better defender.

So as bonkers as it probably sounds given we've had this for years, I feel like 'fuck it' we may as well finally try something different against them. We have limited options wide anyway, and you keep him on the park as a goal threat for freekicks or arriving at the back post.

I've heard some crazy shit in my time here, and there is nothing crazy about this. Tav is a liability. Put him somewhere safer. After all, in a must-win match that not one of us can imagine this lot being able to win, it might be worth it.

Sunday, Sky Sports, 12:30 kick off

Can put a bit of pressure on them here by getting the win. They’re bizarrely playing Dundee away at 3pm on Sunday

    Butland

    Tav Balogun Souttar Yilmaz

    Lundstram Diomande

    McCausland Cantwell Sterling

    Dessers

Sterling is getting around the pitch rightly in these lineups

Let's hope it fucking pisses down there.

...and there's me looking at weather forecasts for Dundee again. :mutley:

PS Light rain forecast all week.

This won’t be what anyone wants to hear but the issue Monaco fans had with Phil was in his second season when he had to build his own side he couldn’t and brought in what they considered to be shite

I back Clement completely still but I wouldn’t hold my breath expecting a celtic type turnaround

I think the Cunts got lucky with the Aussie. He is a no-nonsense type, takes absolutely no shit, and who barely seems to exist these days and knows his stuff. No wonder he moved so quickly.

Because our keeper made cracking saves doesn't mean we automatically played shite.

Folk are making up stuff as per usual

You might be quite correct, but this lot would have folded had he not made those saves. and that's the crux of it. They have not played as welol as the league position showed, and were vulnerable. Once the goals started being conceded the collapse happened. Which seems unthnkable after the 5:0 home win against Hearts. Yet after that game it started. A gung ho attack leaving a weak defense was the start of the collapse, never seen more graphically than against Benfica!

Not a good sign but starting to see the fear in Tavs eyes, he looks broken.

    Not fucking surprised. We should be looking down on the Cunts comfortably, not 3 points and a growing GD below them. I'd be broken../;

Don't agree we played rubbish football. We were playing well during the period he came in until Motherwell at home.

The fact that Butland will be Player of the Season might disagree with that. Without his outstanding performances, we'd have been nowhere near the cunts. It glosses over the fact of how many times he has rescued the losers in front.

Got to love though that wee trick the players do when they get a manager sacked and a new manager comes in and they all play out of their skins then when the novelty of the new manager wears off they do also.

That makes more sense than anything I have come up with.

.The truth is that Tav has made up for the lack of a midfielder or striker who is the free kick/penalty taker.

In having that weakness up front, he has taken up positions that have at the same time left us vulnerable at the back.

Balogun is the best CB we have. The fact that the man is 35 shows how poor our options are.

Three years ago Connor Goldson was superb. He was suspect before then and he's been suspect since. Souttar is a Hearts or Dundee United CB. No better than that and certainly not Rangers standard in any role other than a back up.

Tav is not a RB, I dont care if he's spent the majority of his career there, a RB who can't defend is not a RB. There still could be a place for him elsewhere in the formation but the RB slot should be Sterling's from this point onwards.

Barasic is a joke. Considering his old man is repudiated to be one of the most feared gangland godfathers in Croatia he's an utter shitbag of a player.  Ridvan is orders of magnitude better but we need a backup.

    Tav fucks my head up.

The great feeling that we have got a player who is rising to become one of the highest scoring full backs in the world is completely fucked on its head when you realise that if he is up there scoring, he cannot be in the position where he is supposed to be, which is where the headfuck kicks in. Against Datsun Maida last week he started at least a yard ahead of him but the wee cuntic caught him up and stuck his foot out for the luckiest goal of his career, yet it showed the defensive frailty of our captain. A weakness often compensated for by his efforts at the other end.

Except when that fails, and the rage kicks in. Like now.
