Can see it getting on top very quickly about this to be honest. A few bannings, some hefty fines and criminal record for those doing it. When you have fans throwing flares at the police and causing injuries then this is bound to happen. It doesn't matter if it wasn't us, or even that it was by away fans in a European competition it will be held up as proof of the dangers. Football fans are just another go to to blame for the state of the country and the governments of both the UK and Scotland need whatever distractions they can get at the moment.

It's too easy to end up with a bloated squad again if we go for quantity. We have to use the youth to fill out the squad which would at least give them the chance to play and develop rather than sign more players in the hope they work out. As much as I want everything at once I know that is unlikely to happen and as frustrating as it is we still have to take our time and build our squad up. Agreed on Lafferty.

We need to probably be looking at at least £5M per player. Instead of twice as many players for half the price in the hope that we might unearth a gem. I'm not saying that it is impossible to do that with players that cost £2-3M but it is more of a gamble than I would like. I think Lafferty cost about the same as Danillo and he came into a more established team.

I have no issue signing some older players to add some experience to the squad as long as we are not paying out a transfer fee. Or even getting a couple of players in on loans for positions where we need to improve as long as the actual transfers we pay for are decent players with sell on potential. If it means adding sell on clauses that we think is high on our signings then so be it. Did Jota not end up costing about £15M after he was sold? It would definitely piss you off if we had to hand over a large chunk of any profit on a player but it is still worth it.

Which is what I originally said, that we are paying the same amount for players as we were over a decade and seem to think that we will be able to get the same kind of quality. The results say otherwise. I've said for the last couple of seasons that I think we should be concentrating more on adding a bit of quality rather than numbers and I would rather spend the budget on just a couple of players and trim the size of the squad to help with the wage bill. I still think that is the correct transfer policy going forward than wholesale swoping and changing every year.

Lafferty, Edu, Jelavic, Davis were all about that price of the top of my head and that was when we were cutting back on spending. We are better off getting a couple of decent players in than getting another 8-9 players that are not good enough and we are stuck with again. We were supposed to be cutting back on the squad size when we had so many players leaving but we have just replaced dross with dross.

A couple of bargains from the other side of the world that they only got because their manager knew the market there well. They have consistently paid over £5M for players for years which has gave them the solid base to work from which is what I think we should be doing. We were paying more for players before we were fucked over than what we are now despite the massive rise in transfer fees. It is hardly surprising that we are getting players of a lesser quality than we used to go for.

A couple of million on a player is OK for squad players but the lack of quality is readily apparent. The filth are buying players costing a lot more than what we are getting. Our wage bill is higher than there's due to having loads of players that we can't get rid of. Adding another half dozen players to that will not help us financially. Agreed but thinking that we are going to be able to make those changes in a single season is a pipe dream.

I think that this has been the problem the last couple of years. You mentioned six players costing £15M which basically averages at £2.5M per player. Obviously it doesn't work out exactly that for each player but for me we have been going after numbers instead of quality hoping that they turn good. The splattergun approach as we used to call it and laugh about when Celtic were doing it. You have to be very lucky with at least half of your signings if that is going to have any chance of working. Would much rather we only got 2-3 quality signings instead of trying to change the whole team every year.

It can be both positive and negative like most things. Nobody was bringing the fans mentality into question. Football is all about the highs and lows. Our fans show this. It's part of being a football fan.

Rangers fans have always had a mentality issue to be honest in that we are very rarely happy for long 😂 Seriously though we have gone from confidence before a ball was kicked, chucking the season a few games in, going to win the treble a few days ago to back to being shitebags. It has always been this way. When Walter took us to Manchester people actually started using the anti football line as they were complaining about the lack of entertainment. As a fan base we are a dour, miserable bunch of cunts 😂

On the other hand I enjoy watching Rangers and it is a decent wee earner if you progress. Obviously that is the trick though 😂
