I have been & still am a Boyd fan but even I have to admit the big Ayrshire boy couldnae have held candles to D.C's overall performance today- He held the ball up excellently, he was an absolute PAIN IN THE ARSE to McManus & Caldwell, He worked his balls off for entire shift AND he scored a cracking fucking goal against the scum. What more could we have asked for - Sorry Kris, You cannae match up if D.C keeps his head in the right gear !! :2g:

The goal was due to Papac sclaffing a clearance 2 yards in front of him right to Samaras in front of goal. McGeady shouldn't have got the space, but you can't blame Kirk for that goal. I'll always blame the first mistake. If Broadfoot had closed him down, then the cross wouldn't have developed into a goal in the first place. Again, just my opinion. Yopu are right Papaguy, Broadfoot SHOULD have closed him down, But Papac should NEVER have played ball back into his own box so he was not alone in error - If Papac could only play ball back in there he should not have played it at all !! Blaming 1st mistake is OK, but in team of professionals they should all play to the standard required - I like Papac but his mistake was worse than big Kirk's (in my opinion).

Whether Ferguson or Thopmson is the best player is irrelevant to todays posts - The subject is more about the fact that the TEAM played better today - especially in midfield. Nobody knows because it's not been possible to try - but could Barry play the same or a more influential part than Kevin Thomson did - Doubt it !!

Captain Kirk always gives it his all & today was no exception, He is DESPERATE to play for Rangers & that means a helluva lot !! Would someone just show him how to take a throw-in properly please !!!!!

He jumped ship to BLACKBURN remember - So not all his life. He's only back because he couldnae hack it in higher skilled league. THAT SAID - I actually like & rate Barry, I just don't think he offers any better options than midfield played today - I reckon that't the best Rangers midfield performance i've witnessed for a LONG time & don't see where it could be bettered by having Barry back in side. :2g:

Couldn't agree more mate. A fully fit fergie in with mendes. Can't wait 2 see it! What, At expense of loosing Davis or Thomson- Give me a break !! Neither of them are as single-dimensional as Barry and will play for the team rather than for the right to stick their chest out & act untouchable. That midfield is a spot-on mix of a hard-working ethic, vision & skill. If Barry were to stride straight back into that midfield, it would be a right kick-in-the balls to the best combination we have had in there for years.

Wouldn't the thread be better served with a positive title about how the current midfield hooked up? This post is great until the needless comments about Ferguson. He's hurt. Who knows if he himself would also hook up well with the new crew. How does he "hook up" with new crew ? - Who drops out & where does he fit in ? - On todays showing, There's no place for him because he can't make that midfield any better and if he can't make it better - Why "find a place" for him ??

You got it right too - Adam WAS a disaster !! , Think he scoffed a kebab at half time 'cause he was actually slower & further off the pace after half time break so Walter didnae get it totally correct but Hey, who's complaining !!!

Generally, I agree with what you say & think that if Beasley had been fit, team selection by Walter might have been different. I actually thought he would play with wide men & Miller up front alone but injuries played their part again and boy did it work for us today !! On the day, the team he chose shaped up well & our central midfield was simply awesome....
