  1. he started as a LB at Ajax and played the majority of his games there id say it was his natural position and hes been played as a DM
  2. Blind played at left back for Ajax just cause he can play in one or two other positions doesnt mean he isnt a left back
  3. slightly off topic but what happens if they move abroad? im sure i read that McGinn was considering a move to MLS and if he goes there St Mirren would be entitled to bugger all thinking about it, while that may be the case its probably his agent trying to spook St Mirren into lowering their price, i doubt he has any intention of going to MLS
  4. who, Man Utd? they have Shaw, Rojo and Blind who can all play left back i think Blackett can play there aswell
  5. we do need a few more but the transfer window is open until the end of august/start of september as i said in another thread, id rather they took the time to get the right players in instead of rushing thru signings to play against Hibs in the petrofac or to please fans moaning about lack of signings. i will wait until the window is shut before i judge the work being done
  6. maybe wabara had a slight knock or strain and wasnt risked just cause he didnt feature today doesnt mean he isnt getting a deal
  7. be really pedantic and pull him up on the spelling of Greig.............
  8. sounds excellent mate. you never know, with the new manager and his reputation for playing youths the wee man could be drafted into the 1st team squad if he impresses haha
  9. i get what youre saying, he might be able to manipulate stats for other people but he wouldnt be likely to do it to himself or his business model would be buggered, kinda like working against yourself. think he bases it on data collated by software from his betting company. wouldnt want Rangers to try it but it will be intersting to see how Brentford and Midjytlland get on next season
  10. interesting wee read http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2015/feb/22/brentford-mathematical-modelling-denmark i knew Warburton and Weir left Brentford cause the chairman/owner wanted to implement this type of system but i didnt know the guy also owns FC Midtjylland in Denmark and is already using the system over there and just won the league title. its mentioned in this months world soccer magazine (couldnt find the article online) but found the above article. in the world soccer piece the manager Glen Riddersholm says he gets stacks and stacks of data to pour over during the week and also gets stats and data in the dressing room at half time. maybe something in it if theyve just won the league ahead of Copenhagen and Brondby.
  11. bottled it
  12. why you even bothered then? if she wants to waste 100 quid on it let her or if shes making you pay then grow a set of balls and tell her its not happening cause its a shitey game in a shitey ground and you refuse to spunk money on it.
  13. you asked about the cost of being a mascot, i showed you something that gave you an idea i cant find anything online about costs of being a mascot for a charity game at an amateur ground with only 4 confirmed ex players. in my opinion 100 quid is a rip off and ad rather spend 100 quid taking ma kid out somewhere decent for the day instead. you dont have to pay it
  14. looks like 100 quid is cheap, they should bump it up...... http://www.deadlinenews.co.uk/2013/09/20/scotlands-top-football-clubs-have-been-criticised-for-charging-up-to-450-for-children-to-be-match-day-mascots/ http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/dec/18/premier-league-clubs-charge-600-children-mascots
  15. sounds like the scottish cup day was some sort of competition prize that your son won, i would guess thats why eveything was free and whatever. this 100 quid number is fair enough if its going to the players bevvy kitty, i read each player will have a wee mascot infront of them as they walk out so they can bump the kitty up to 2200 quid.... at the end of the day if you think its a rip off dont pay it.
  16. i heard there was scum badges dotted around inside the ground aswell, supposedly on the tunnel and the dugouts my father in law is a st mirren fan and he was raging haha
  17. a few weeks ago after the playoff final 2nd leg, was in Spain (stealth holiday post) watching it with my father in law (St Mirren fan), put on a brave face after it but when we went back to the villa i went to my room and shed a few tears. also in Manchester after the final, standing in a pub watching it and at the final whistle i felt myself welling up.
  18. if he has any sense he can put some of the wages hes stolen from the last 3 years on us winning the league this season. Ian Black is the past, lets look to the future and focus on the job in hand.
  19. Depending on which teams are promoted, there might need to be a slight change each season in the teams that compromise the SFL Highland and SFL Lowland divisions, depending on the 12 teams that are most northerly and southerly (in the league structure example below the decision actual had to be made on alphabetical grounds, as Stirling University and Stirling Albion would be tied for the 12th most northerly team as they share a stadium). think they do something similar down south with the leagues below the conference
  20. same for me mate, the others leaving were sore but when he left it was a proper boot in the balls for me for some reason.
  21. id doubt they would be on any more combined than what McCulloch wouldve been on, id rather give these two young hungry players a competitive wage than spunk money on old uninterested mercenaries like we have been. out of interest, does anybody have a rough idea what sort of weekly saving we are making since we released the 11 players?
  22. just watched this on youtube haha looks like Danny Wilson standing in the background aswell
