Many a trip to Liverpool. Always been good.

I was in Liverpool for 3 months about 15 years ago, and had nothing but positivity shown when I mentioned I was a bear. I don't recall speaking to many evertonian's mind. Admittedly it was exactly during the 2008 uefa Cup run so maybe they were feeding off the back of that. But certainly pre social media era in my experience there was no anti Rangers sentiment in Liverpool. 

This is some weird thing that always gets pedalled by Rangers fans about Everton and its just made up nonsense.
Everton were founded out of a Methodist church. The church outside Goodison is Anglican. The man who founded Liverpool, John Houlding, was originally on the board at Everton. Liverpool essentially came out of a boardroom split at Everton over rent at Anfield. Nearly everyone important in the early days of both clubs was a Protestant apart from James Baxter. 
 

This is Liverpool. The game will be on in most of the pubs. It always is.

People have their own opinions of McNeil, he was wrong in not stepping forward about the child abuse but there were many further up the chain who should have taken it in hand rather than McNeil. However having known him for years, ( his wife Liz is a relation to my wife), i can say that he was a decent family man who was not in any bigoted, he married outside his own faith, Liz being Protestant. Billy McNeil played at a time when, by and large, Rangers and celtic players had a great deal of respect for each other and socialised together. Billy McNeil was a decent human being to my knowledge, may he rest in peace.

They didn’t mention them by name I don’t think, it was “various other clubs”
