  1. That's unlucky mate. Would have been a fantastic start as well.
  2. Just need War Command or Toormore to win WITHOUT Kingman and Australia for the win! 3. Nice one mate. That's fantastic. As i've mentioned it's not really a top tips system, it's just giving you a better chance of winning by having more selections, and if you put in the time, effort and research, you will win more than you lose. One thing i'd say is I do it online. I could NEVER write it all down. It takes me long enough doing it online so fair play to you for taking the time to write out all your slips! Also online, you can make last minute changes like the non runner issue you had almost instantly as well as adding further cover bets if you are successful in the first 1 or 2 races. Obviously betting online is not for everyone, i've only started in the past 12 months but whatever works best for you.
  4. The system is simply based on trying to give myself the best chance to make the biggest profit from a relatively small stake by betting on more than one horse, first goalscorer per race/game etc. It isn't necessarily solely a horse racing system as such. It just so happens that horse racing so far has worked best as the odds can be very generous considering there are limited potential winners. Also even if you no nothing about horses you can still pick 2 or 3 Decent chances with simple research. As above i don't know a lot about horse racing but that was kinda my point too. If i can do it with limited knowledge then some who can pick 4 and 5 to 1 shots fairly regularly, like MrIrwin for example, and even more so with 2 to 3 picks per race they would win more than they lose. Also i am getting better but i rely a lot by checking a number of tipsters and simple research rather than my extensive horse racing. It doesn't solely need to be horse racing. Aird was generally 7s today and would have been a great one to have. Like all betting there is a huge element of luck but rather than betting on one horse, one first goalscorer etc i try to give myself a better chance of winning. Trying to get 4 wins is far from guaranteed but i personally would rather do this than stick 20 quid on one horse or first goalscorer for example. It can be very time consuming so I'm not able to do it every day or even every week but when i have time to do it i do so as often as I'm able to. I therefore wouldn't expect everyone to do this but thought I'd just share to see if anyone was interested.
  5. You do realise the currently board are not to blame for the majority of these results?
  6. Apologies if already posted but there's a fairly recent interview with Sandy and Ally on the official website (top right hand corner). I'd never seen this before. It's about an hour but a fantastic insight to a great man. http://www.rangers.co.uk/
  7. Fucking hell. Hope this is not true. Puts everything in perspective. A great player but an even greater man by all accounts. RIP to a Rangers legend and condolences to his loved ones.
  8. It can seem impossible at times and you always need a huge element of luck but if you choose wisely, all it does is make it more possible. Another good example was our game tonight. I only done 3 singles (Law, Aird and Mohsni - didn't fancy Daly who's always ridiculously short priced, and just not very good at the moment!) @ £10 each (£30 stake in total) on 3 FGS, and Mohsni came in @ 11s so made a small profit. On Sunday got Baines @ 25s (also had Lukaku and Mirallas as safer options). One of the small difficulties I sometimes have is trying to find 4 races/games I can bet on at the one time.
  9. Good evening all, I've been trialing a new betting system over the past 12 months or so which has been pretty successful and thought i'd share with you all, if anyone is interested. It's not exactly revolutionary, and at times it can be a right pain in the @rse but if you stick at it, you win more than you lose, providing you're relatively sensible. I basically bet on 4 different sporting events, primarily Horse Racing, and more often than not 4 separate races. I try to pick races where the fields are small (4-8 max) and competitive (but only 3-5 roughly, in theory should have a chance to win). The races I choose are mainly based on the odds. If they are too short, I won't bet. My maximum stake is £36 and I either do 36 fourfolds @ £1, 18 fourfolds @ £2 or 24 fourfolds @ £1.50. I don't know much about Horses but i'm getting better and base my picks on my limited Horsing knowledge, tips, jockeys, trainers, course and distance winners, form and weather conditions. Once i've done that I select 2 horses in 2 races, and 3 horses each in the other 2 (which works out at 2 x 2 x 3 x 3 @ £1 per bet (36 bets @£1). If i'm feeling confident i'll just do 2 in each race (2 x 2 x 2 x2 @ £2 (18 bets @ £2). They must be 5-2/3-1 AT LEAST or i'm not interested, generally because i'm pretty greedy! The biggest pain in the @rse part of it is putting on 36/18 seperate fourfolds but if you win the rewards are great and make it worth it. Also, it just gives you such a greater opportunity to win with a potentially better return. I've lost count how many times i've wasted £10/£20 here and there on nonsense even money or odds on shots where the return is just not worth the stake. And i've also lost count how many times i've been torn between 2 decent 4-1/5-1 shots and picked the wrong one. This way you are simply giving yourself a real chance of a return. I try to make my first pick my best chance of a win and if you get a winner straight away you can then do further trebles on the next 3 races to give yourself an even better chance. For example, if in my 4 races the shortest priced horses I do in each race wins (all 3-1 for example), the guaranteed return from a £1 bet (£36 in total) would be £256.Therefore, I could afford to lump another £20 or so on a few other horses to add to the ones I already have, giving myself further cover. If your first horses loses though it is a massive kick in the balls after all the time and effort you put in! You have to be pretty patient to do this and you obviously won't win every time. When I do it I try to find races where you have a ridiculously short priced horse which is far from certain to win. In races such as this you can pick 3 horses at 6s, 8s, and 12s and if any come up you're laughing. Ideally you always want your longest shot to win but if you play it smart such as the 3-1 shortest for each race, you could return £256 although I mainly do the shorter ones merely for cover hoping my longer shots win. If your longer shots win in all races that's where you make a good few quid. You'll never be a millionaire if you stick to £1 bets but i've won over a grand a few times recently using this system. As a basic example 4, 5-1 winners @ £1 = 6 x 6 x 6 x 6 = £1296 so the rewards are there if you do some proper research, and if you are even more conservative and happy for a smaller profit than £256 - £36, then your chances of winning will increase, It's a rather simple system but it's quite difficult to explain in writing so hopefully i've made it relatively clear. First goalscorers, Golf and Tennis are other sports you can use as part of your fourfolds. It doesn't just have to be Horse Racing. Using the Pro Race Card in the Horse Racing is great too as you can eliminate even more dangers and increase your chances of winning that way. Anyway, I realise it's getting late, and I may well have bored some/most of you to sleep, so at least I may have been of some service!
  10. Tin hat at the ready but I personally don't think there is too much wrong with what Ally actually said in that interview. The main bone of contention seems to be him referring to Hibs as a big club and stating publicly he's worried about Hibs should they be relegated. I think this may have been taken out of context slightly in my opinion. Hibs are not a big club but if they were to drop down to the Championship next season they would a big club in the Championship and would absolutely be serious contenders, as will Hearts and a possible few others, sadly. With regard to being worried about Hibs, sadly he is probably correct. It doesn't sit well with me saying that but we have to be realistic in relation to our current predicament. Even when we had our top team available in the SPL, going to Easter Road and Tynecastle were always tough games. Going there now with our current squad and the current management team in place though does raise concerns. The squad we have is overrated, and if rumours are to be believed, vastly overpaid. Being overpaid though does not suddenly make you a better player. In saying that, I do think the current squad we have is capable of winning the league, although it will not be easy and it certainly won't be short of competitiveness. I have stated before that I think it would be best for all concerned if Ally and the management team left so i'm certainly not a fan of some of the signings, performances, tactics and general progression of the team. That therein lies my main concerns in terms of promotion next season. Although I believe the players to be good enough to win the league next season, the last few seasons have not exactly given me any reassurance. Also, the overhaul of the squad if they gained promotion into the SPFL is pretty frightening. I can understand fans being unhappy with Ally's comments but I guess he was asked a question by the Media and merely gave his honest opinion. I have no doubt Ally was trying to force the board to release funds for more players too and I also believe he is playing the game, by covering himself with his comments in the event of failure to gain promotion. I'm also fairly sure that there are not many fans right now who have much confidence in our squad and management team and are equally unconvinced we will get promotion at the first time of asking next season but us thinking that and the manager publicly stating it are two different things I suppose. As above, I share similar concerns but for me the real issue, as touched on before by a few other posters, is how far we have fallen. We are Rangers for god sake and should never be in fear of anyone. We should never accept mediocrity. Our standards have fallen so badly on and off the pitch though that purely based on the past few seasons and recent comments from the management team and players, which don't inspire confidence, that what I presumed would be a formality will be tough next season. I think we will do it. Just, although I think we would have a better chance with a new management team in place. Who that may be I have no idea but it seems pretty unlikely there will be any change regardless which will make next season all the more tougher, in my opinion.
  11. Derek Adams, the Ross County manager! He just scored a pen, wouldn't give the ball back to one of the County players then for some reason just ran into Adams, got a second booking and sent off!
  12. Apologies if already posted but what is this clown up to haha? Can you imagine if Black done this?
  13. I don't read The Sun, and unfortunately didn't see their piece, and by that reference above I merely meant there was no indication to me that she was part of the Union Bears in the mainstream media, although maybe i've just missed it. That of course, means nothing in the grand scheme of things anyway. A young girl has sadly lost her life and football means nothing in comparison. The point I was trying to make was simply that I was impressed by how the Milan fans were able to find out about this and do what they did, as I only knew she was part of the Union Bears from RM as above, so I was unsure how they would have found this out, and again that is what I meant by limited coverage, as sadly a lot of people lose their lives each day, and not many people take much notice, let alone football fans from another country. Rangersgary has since clarified this. We both agree that it was a great gesture by the Milan fans, and also by the Hamburg fans too.
  14. Favourite signing bar none has to be Laudrup. Just exceptional, and the saddest is of course, when he left. The general break up of the 9IAR team was pretty sad too. Other notable mentions would be Cuellar (colossal during his short period with us although the transfer fee helped) and Klos, for a slightly different reason. Klos was an amazing goalkeeper for us and he then had that injury. Waterreus came in and was fantastic but I just felt the way his career deteriorated from then on in with us was all a bit of a shame. It wasn't really anyone's fault but just a bit disappointing how his last few years with us ended up going as he was superb in the early part of his career with us.
  15. What a touching gesture by the Milan fans. In a world that is full of so many self absorbed ignorant morons, it restores your faith in humanity when you see things like this. This tragedy hasn't had much exposure in the mainstream media and I wouldn't have known about the sad passing if I didn't find out about it on here. Therefore, for the Milan fans to find out about this with limited coverage and show their respect in this manner is truly heart warming. It's only a simple gesture but sometimes, most of the time, the simplest are the best. That gesture for me speaks incredible volumes and shows real class. Well played to the Milan fans but more importantly condolences to the young girls loved ones.
  16. Finally...............some recognition!
  17. Lee Wallace for me. He's not been totally outstanding but is far too good for this level and stands out like a sore thumb. Also, there hasn't been much competition this season if we're being honest. If McLeod didn't have his injuries/personal problems, which are far more important, he'd have been in the running too. Let's just hope the wee man gets fit and healthy.
  18. There you go sir. There are too many but here are a few that I love (which include some as a player too - couldn't resist) And most random..........
  19. It was fantastic, and everything about Laudrup's performance was just breathtaking. His goals, his touch, awareness, vision, technique, unselfishness for Durie's 2nd, the inch perfect crosses for Durie's 1st & 3rd, and even some keepy uppies thrown in to take the piss! Genius!
  20. Also, Law's goal against Airdie reminds me so much of Durie's 1st goal (starting around 6.10) in the God cup final. Uncanny similarities. Ah them were the days.......
  21. I'm definitely with you on that one. A goal of genuine quality made to look so simple and effortless. Great one touch passing and the subtle finish was exquisite. Would maybe have had Mohsni's overhead kick in the top 20 although it wouldn't have come close to being the best.
  22. The goalie ones always seem to go too far! It was a nice idea but i still don't know if I love or hate it! This one too although a lot of other teams had the same template back then unlike the one of a kind above!
  23. Sol Campbell likes this In all seriousness, in my opinion Yaya Toure is one of the most complete midfielders in Europe but by no means is he discriminated against because he is African. That is just nonsense. There are many admirers of Toure all over the world. I do however, think that Xavi and Iniesta in particular, continue to be classed as the best midfielders in the world despite, in my opinion their performances and influence on the game not being what it once. Don't get me wrong they are both still fantastic players and they have set an impeccable standard but they are getting on a bit, playing less and it seems they will always be regarded as the top men and appear on team of the years XIs primarily on their fantastic reputation. In that sense though it's not just Toure who is overlooked, many other top midfielders such as Reus, Hazard etc are too. In terms of being one of the best players in the world though, Nasri needs to calm his jets a little. As above Toure is a very good player but he is nowhere near the elite level of Ronaldo, Messi, Suarez, Ibrahimovic etc. PS Nasri is and always will be a greetin' faced wee knob!
  24. If all 3 signed and no one else came in I'd sadly expect Ally to go with something along the lines of: Bell Hutchinson McCulloch Mohsni Wallace Law Black McLeod McLean Boyd Daly Personally i'd go with (out of the current squad with only those 3 added) 433/451 Bell Peralta McCulloch Hutchinson Wallace Black Law McLeod Gallagher McLean Boyd I'd also like to think we were looking for two types of players, players who are ready too go and play straight away in the SPFL, as well as younger players who we can hopefully nurture and progress along with the young talent coming through from Auchenhowie (please let me dream a little! ). We should also be moving on as much deadwood as possible.
