I took from today's press conf that he is going to play Alves if possible so therefore drop Cardoso and we are there. Best XI we can manage I think.

IF Alves is fit then Cardoso must be dropped not McRorie.

We cannot do better than this sadly. Pains me to say it but the only possible change here for me would be Miller for Eddie H. But we might as well start Herrera I think.

either this or my only changes would be John in place of Hodson if fit; and Kenny in the hole behind Morelos. But Herrera is a strong contender. If fit then (eek) even Wilson ahead of Cardoso, who is not Rangers standard.

for all that Morelos is a find, Pena is a dead loss, truth be told. As you say, what's gutting is that one of these days their defence is going to fall apart and someone will give them a doing. It was very nearly Motherwell last term. Gordon has lost his confidence and Simonovic is just a bully. Should have had a penalty and that would have totally changed the match. Agree with poster who says there is improvement and we must stick with Pedro til the new year. Pedro knows the score damn fine. Clock that little laugh he gives when he says "if we have the strength to continue" in the post-match.. he knows he needs to get results. And he can start by binning Pena and getting Nemane up to speed to push Windass out as well. Finally, for those who diss Kenny, consider this - we haven;t got anyone else in that position apart from Pena at the moment...

Agree. Said in another thread they looked weak at the back tonight - and that was Dundee FFS. Long balls in like precision guided weapons. I'll get pelters for this but if we go for long balls from midfield into their box/wings then Niko is the best at that. 442 with Eddie and morelos up front, Candeias Dorrans Pena/NK/Jack then McCrorie joining the back line in place of Bruno?

Just watched the highlights of them v Dundee. They really do look weak at the back - but decent going forward. Two of their goals were soft, especially the last one, and Morelos would have put away El Bakhtoui's chance. Not saying we wouldn't give away the soft goals, but they really did get cut open a few times at the back. Where there's life, there's hope!

Interesting - I thought he was a liability given his liking for chinning people. Lustig definitely a weak er link. Don't know about the others...

Gordon and Simunovic and to an extent Lustig are their weak spots. I fancy Simunovic for a red or double yellow against our Buffalo...

You may be right. He surely has to do something to strengthen the left of the park with Lee and John out. It will be interesting to see how we get on without Miller. It would be nice to think we can manage without him. While I'm here, if Niko's knee is done, is that the end of him in the manager's eyes? Really can't see him getting a new deal next year..

While I'm here, thought fellow bears might be interested to know that L'Equipe, the leading French football magazine - basically, the French sporting bible, slated the tims in their match report, describing PSG as "toying with them" and that "the match was over after 40 minutes" etc etc. Kind of puts Brenda's theory that PSG are the greatest in the world etc etc to bed: the French media are basically saying PSG tanned them while on cruise control.

Agree but this is a doubled edged sword. Pedro needed to play Miller, who knows the league backwards, to start with as others bedded in. I suspect that, at least, you'll see a top 2 of Morelos and Herrera next week, with KM on the bench. Windass will come back into contention, of course - but if he gives Pena 30-35 mins again next week that will be breaking him in nicely. Pena's lack of confidence and uncertainty stuck out a mile for me today. Let's not forget that he has never lived or played anywhere except Mexico until he came here. Easy to look at Bruno, etc for comparison - but he's done Portugal, Italy and Russia before coming to Scotland, so it's a different experience. A new country for the first time at 27 would faze anyone...

Oh yes. Seriously, that might end up goal of the season. What stones (balls) he has. One thing I like about him is that he always gets up and keeps going, none of this fannying around in tears on the ground bollocks.

You can see the respect in which Bruno is held by the other players. Ball always goes to him when it's being fed out/passed around at the back. I suspect Pena's problem is confidence - he was always trying to get rid of the ball instead of do something with it, even when he was played through on goal. And our defending around the 18 minute mark was as ugly as a dog's arse. Seriously thought -- more than once -- we'd let them in. Bruno apart, the entire defence still needs a lot of work. Herrera must start over Miller next week - KM is done now. Impact sub, end of.

I think we will batter them 4-0 or 5-0. They are shite and their best player wants away.
