His daughter was my teacher in primary school. He died about five years ago in his 90s as I recall. Was the oldest living Rangers player at the time.

He impressed enough to merit the protracted contract he got.

Cheers dude.

List of banned songs given to Old Firm by police
JackRegan replied to ben dirs's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
What he said! -
Was reading that he had been very impressive in training during the week so baffled why he didn't start. His partnership with Jelavic has looked good any time I've seen it.
-
That wasn't my intention. Wouldn't do that to my fellow RMF Bears. Incidentally still not working for me.

Anyone know if that's the site down again for a wee while or if it's just a temporary glich? Thanks in advance.

Apparently Diouf in papers tomorrow
JackRegan replied to Jimfanciesthedude's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
So will Diouf tell us what actually happened then please that made him and our manager in waiting react as they did? -
Our tinpot Government stick their noses into the Glasgow derby after Wednesday's "shocking and shameful" scenes. You'd think with the elections coming up they would have more to worry about. There were more "shocking" tackles going on in this match today so will David Cameron stick his nose in? No he won't. Will the English papers drag this out for days on end? No they won't. Will the whole thing be totally blown out of proportion? No it won't. Now can they all just get a grip in our silly wee country and start governing and reporting things that matter please. Thank you.

So Dick You what did EHD do that was shameful?
JackRegan replied to JackRegan's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
"NG" That's all my title was missing. I did try to edit it. Honestly! -
Dick Young what was so shameful about Diouf's conduct last night? The most irrelevant journalist (apart from OC obviously) in Scotland has wangled a column with the BBC and is able to spout this pish. It wouldn't happen to be bandwagon jumping lazy journalism now would it ya wee pr1ck? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-12631956 The Lennon/McCoist clash is one isolated incident in a night of, I have to say, shame for Scottish football. This whole "crime scene" needs to be investigated and analysed from start to finish. The behaviour of El-Hadji Diouf [Rangers player] was absolutely scandalous. In the end here is a player who throws his top, and indeed his skins, to the fans as if he were some kind of hero when he had hardly kicked a ball for Rangers. There was much wrong about the game, it was unbelievable. In 40 years of covering Old Firm matches, this one is up there with one of the most scandalous I have ever seen. I can't believe the behaviour of the people on the park and time after time I have said this is something that has a ripple effect which is felt deep into the night.

Oh right. I didn't know. He must be fit enough to go to the game any way. This could explain McGregor's slight dip in form perhaps.
-
What was up with him?
-
Spanish place starting with V? I was nearly there!
-
Noticed it was Jim Stewart beside Smith last night and read somewhere else that Durrant was away to Valencia. Anyone got any ideas why he'd miss a Glasgow derby?
-
I'd bring back Campbell Ogilvie. He should never have been allowed to leave.

Top-level summit arranged after Old Firm 'shame game'
JackRegan replied to Gaz52's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
We don't want favours. We just want parity. -
I'd also like us to stop calling The Glasgow derby "The Old Firm". We do not want them or need to be associated with this so called football club.
-
Which one of his many, many shameful actions are you speaking of in particular?!
-
Lot of diving taigs did the ref no favours. Am I right in saying he booked every single one of our players??!!
-
As early as that?
-
May well have done so had Walter not held him back. McDowall even had to get someone to hold his clipboard so he could try and sort it out!
-
Reminded me of Craig Moore's challenge on Larsson in front of the West Enclosure about ten years ago.
-
Now where on earth would he have picked up such a phrase?
