We have been trying to follow that model but we have to get better with our choices. We have Alves, Pena and Dorrans as our difference makers, morelos and Cardoso as potential and Jack as our local guy. Mixed bag as expected but unfortunately the expensive ones seem to be the ones that struggle

Squad rebuilds do have to stop, but recruitment needs to be much better. I'd rather see is add 3-5 players or so per window but at least 2 of those have to be of real difference making quality. Add to that players who get signed for potential and players proven in our league we are getting there.

I guarantee there is no prescriptive list. The list a DOF puts together are recommendations. It's possible a manager doesn't like the level of player we can afford but there's no way anyone will be told 'here are the players we are signing'. As Sweetheart said though, a DOF should also have a list of managers in the database. If the board don't like the suggestions I'd say that's the boards issue. If you decide on a structure give the people implementing it the trust and power to get in with it. We remind me if West Ham. Owners with too much of an opinion

We are concreting a reputation as a pretty shambolic employer. Our reputation must be in tatters among people in the sport. Look at the whole DM debacle including that statement, the Warburton and Weir 'resignations', Bartons suspension, Sandazas sacking, the CEO who has to run his decisions by the SA based chairman, the DoF who can't get his recommendations heard. We seem to attack everyone we disagree with instead if having some decorum. It's all spin and whispers.

King didn't meet Pedro until he had signed. Perhaps why we went for McInnes when our DOF was supposed to do the headhunting. I refuse to believe MA took 6 weeks to recommend DM. I think there was a power struggle or we were going through the motions before DK just decided it was McInnes.

He's alright, but so are most keepers in the league. We have always had the best keepers in the league and Fod ain't that. We desperately need quality, we have needed a one off £15m squad build since we returned to the top. Its how Walter took our title back (Davis, Mendes Etc) Advocaat (half the Dutch national team) MON for them (Sutton Lennon Thomson), Rodgers to a lesser extent (Dembele and Sinclair). In this league having 3 players who are of a higher standard can drag the rest up. They have Sinclair, Dembele and Tierney. We are supposed to have Alves, Dorrans and Pena. It's down to the board to get the funding in to build something meaningful or move aside for others who will. Oh, and appoint a fucking real manager

You could have put a good experienced manager in charge of that squad, Clarke, Sir Walter, Moyes and a host of others and we wouldn't capitulate at home. My guess is that we could buy 3-4 players in summer and see a huge difference with a decent manager The players need someone who is in charge to answer to, not the substitute teacher. We all remember how much fucking around went on when the guy taking the class wasnt hanging around.

If we get 25 goals from a 21 year old who is physically strong, aggressive and fearless we will have a £5m+ player on our hands after season 1 and will finish closer to them than most hoped for. He's ages with Ryan Hardie. The boy is on a fast track to being a star. Enjoy while it lasts as he isn't like McCrorie who grew up loving Rangers and will take the next step quickly
