Do we know why current encumbent leaving? When was it decided?
-
suspect someone fighting like mad to keep this.quiet? Can only assume there is some sort of 'snag' with the info??
Was hoping we would get clarification today, and names named!!
-
Look at timing. Comonwealth games just finished. Hmrc appeal deadline about to expire. Now this. Got a good feeling.
-
Just happy that the hibs and hearts games are so early in the season. Theae should be the barometer that dictates whether we start manager searching pronto.
-
spot on. And dont limit ourselves to rangers related grievances either. That is what they have done to us.Attack everyone, with every grievance we can think of....that is the tactic of our enemy, and of you lot do not realise that they are at war with us, even if we haven't caught up with them yet, then shame on you!

Search on facebook for orwell prize. U can post what u think of the prize. Mine is going on tomorrow when on a pc.

Sorry stupid auto correct. Title should reference hmrc, not hard

Bears
Just wondering if there has been any ruling released yet? Do we have a timetable when the result is likely to be published?
Interested as I think it naive to assume that a guilty verdict will not be used against us. Even today I know rival fans clutching at the appeal as evidence of our guilt.
I am reasonably confident we will Win however.
I would also expect heads to roll. If it was my tax affairs and my company had been wrongly bullied into liquidation.......
-
I pray I am wrong. I don't think so tho. However as others have said this is not the time.We 'know' they won't get us by the championship? Put it on at the bookies. You'll make a decent bit back.
-
Rip Sandy. Thank you for the memories and for standing by us, your club.
-
This in a nutshell. When in a competitive business environment, not to take advantage to reduce tax take etc can hurt you. That saving allows money to be invested in other players etc.I'm not a fan of SDM, but what did he do that brought this about.
I do think he fleeced the club stupid and spent recklessly, but neither of those brought the club down.
You may try and argue EBTs but these were legal at the time and despite several hearing lawyers and judges still can't say if they are legal or not.
Without that tax bill and the ridiculous time it hung over us, we would have been fine.
-
You never consider the appeal is a defence mechanism? I suspect some in HMRC may have been hoping this takes a lot longer than it has. I think they will still lose this given the quality of judges that ruled in our favour. To be honest I can't believe they put in an appeal, it is a total waste of taxpayers money and when they lose they shouldn't be allowed to appeal again if there is an option for that. They are only trying it for two reasons, firstly because it is us and those wankers aren't impartial and secondly so they can learn from any mistakes they made first time round should they wish to go for other clubs if they feel they might have a case, and I don't just mean Scottish clubs.
Given the shambolic case HMRC put forward, I think heads would roll. They bullied a perfectly profitable company into liquidation. Class action by old shareholders anyone?
-
Would give the scum and the rest of Scottish Football the chance to call us cheats. Would hope that we win it, but even if we do, they will appeal again.
Hi Mate
It is important we win this. One thing I would point out tho and I used to point out of FF, even if we lose, look at the facts:
1. It has taken years to rule on this
2. Two top tax judges found in our favour
3. Only an accountant, a bean counter found against us based on a moralistic view, not a legal view
The above and the fact that it has taken so log means that anything our club did was in good faith. It is the shambolic tax law that is at fault here. If they want to stop tax avoidance, simplify the tax system.

dont care as long as he plays well.

just conjecture, but assuming it is a standard rolling contract of the type i described, there will be a notice period where the leaving party needs to give notice they are not renewing. i think three months would be reasonable for the role in question.
ally took his time accepting the wage cut. again conjecture but i am wondering if that kicked in when the contract roled over?? maybe the club was more forceful than given credit for. as i say . conjecture. we need a change tho.
-
cheers mate. i am reasonably experienced in contract tho not rolling ones. standard definition is one that is simple to renew after the initial period is up ie a year in ally case. indeed, it may auto renew if neither party says "thats it ave hud enuff". depends on the terms. would bw surprised if it was a guaranteed year notice to ally. in which case.......Not really sure , but I was under the impression that it renews every day , meaning he gets a years wages as a pay off. Otherwise they would just call it a years contract.
Like I say though , just my interpretation of it and could be wrong.
-
sorry mate, it must be anothers crazy bob with smaller nads u are thinking of.You crazy bob am crazy linfield have you ever crossed paths with the magic claw hammer?
-
eh?Awrite pal fucks happin you looking for trouble?
-
nah mate. it is a contract that means obligations on both parties. the lawyers would not let RFC be tied into such a one way deal, even ours. if for any reason ally wanted out, then rangers would be due compo of some sort. it is a legally binding agreement.Doubt any clauses like that exist. If Ajax come in though, I will pay their flights.
can i ask how do u know about the workings of ally contract?
-
so if ajax decide that total footie was out and lumping the ball to big strikers was in and wanted ally as their manager, what would rangers get ?? £1.5m? from ally that is?He is due £1.5m if he is pushed. A rolling contract with managers is one year from each passing day
-
we absolutely certain about the nature of that contract?? it does not fit with the standard definition of a rolling contract. no advantage to rangers as far as i can see. even for bain, thexe terms are ridiculous.McCall is seemingly on £80k. McInnes I would imagine would be £100-£150k although might have went up.
To answer your other point, it was Baldy Bain that rewarded his good pal with such a contract before he went.
-
anyone know what sort of money mcinness is on at abergreen?? How much would we expect to pay Billy davies?
think the first thing that needs done is ally notified that years period of notice starts now.
the club then need to make a statement that this has been done and they will be looking for a new management team to start in six months time. as soon as notice period served, RFC liability starts to reduce. still cannot believe anyone agreed to that.
-
aw jeeze. so what we are really saying is he has a year long notice period that he can expect payment for if the club decide to say tatty bye?? that is the effect. massive salary and a year long notice period. who the hell agreed to that!A rolling contract ensures he is continuously on a year contract from every new day. He is due a years salary, plus hat he "negotiated" into his "pay cut". It will cost us £1.5m for him to oust him from our financial wreckage of a club. Plus he has his penny shares. At least he is a Real Rangers man eh, not like those pesky spivs.
