Of course he does, what if we get a free kick, penalty or corner in these games, do we just tell the ref we dont want them and restart from our keeper instead :boughy:

    Ahem. Throw ins as well.

Tbf I think as a club we’ve done terribly at moving on older players who are slowing down.

Looking at how much younger the Sheep’s team was today than ours. It’s crap planning and squad management by us.

But there’s one or two players in every team that are probably good enough that they’re worth keeping.

And I think a better managed Tav is still a good player. But appreciate I’m in the minority on that one.

Not reinventing the wheel here. Most clubs that compete in 4 competitions and go deep in them rotate their squad and key players.

No need for him to be playing Dumbarton and Ayr Utd

So again I ask. Why make allowances just for tav and not other past it players? Why invite enforced squad rotation decisions on our manager.

Also, you seem to assume he is even good enough/strong spined enough for pressure keg games like against them.

    He is not.

Like previous players such as boyd, ferguson etc he will be moved on and we will be glad.

Without sounding like a broken record, is there not a middle ground?

Tav was unanimously in our top 3 outfield players till probably after the Benfica game.

Agreed he’s ageing and he’s declined massively these last 5-6 matches.
    He’s been brutal of late.

So is there not a way we can manage him better next season. Don’t ask the 33year old right back who covers more ground than any other player, to play every minute of every game.
I’d say the same for Lundstram but I think he’s easier replaced.

Look mate. Sorry but I have to ask why the fuck we need to

    1. Make changes elsewhere in the team to cater for tavs loss of ability.

    2. Risk further trophy loss as a result of point  1.

We are Rangers and no player is bigger than our club. You seem to infer tav is.

  4. Pretty sure there is a reason we did so well in the closed door season.

I have wanted a change of captain for a while now.  Someone much more aggressive and not just a technocrat which I think is what tav is. As it is we need most of a new defence. Then we can look at the forward roles.

His two worst games of the season.

I thought he had turned a winning corner under Clement, but he hasn't.

Others will raise their hand to take penalties.

Take Saudi money and move on... (we can dream)

Nobody ever comes in for Tav & Goldson. I think we know why.

This is it for me. If those two (tav and goldson) had any serious use at a senior level, we would have had offers. We have not for a reason.

I would still go Silva LW over Matondo to start.

Away from home in particular being able to take the ball in under pressure and win free kicks.

Before his injury matondo was getting results coming on as sub when opposition legs were tired. We know it works. Stick with it. He is less affective as a starter in my view.

Sterling has done well when played further forward. Tav could move further forward if its a problem. My point is that Tav is one of our better players if looked at over a season. Crazy to say he needs moved on.

Remember we tried that years ago with pushing him forward and sticking hodson at right back.

Roughly half are penalties. What about the other half that are just as important? Would we have won last week if Tav hadn't scored that volley? Would you have wanted any other player to hit that volley?

Much like the boyd arguments of old you seem to assume that we would not replace him with anyone. If the defence  of which tav is a major part, could be trusted, we would also be a different proposition up from. Tavs prime role is defending and he is poor at this level.

Honestly get this thread in the bin. Take him and his goals out the team and the scum would have won the league by now.

Take tavs penalties out his stats and his appeal is much less salubrious

What really annoyed me yesterday was ridvan was clearly really struggling at them but we kept him on them

To be fair mate, I reckon we could have much better corners in but still wouldn't score. From memory Katie and helander were always a threat. Not out current two.

Goldson was bullied like fuck today! I’ve genuinely never seen a centre half that is so shite at attempting to win headers when attacking corners - just heads it over! Cunts done!!

This. Our conversion rate for corners is fucking shocking. That changing will be a major sign of a proper Rangers for me. Won't happen with current centre backs or forwards tho.

You're spot on here, mate. How many times since Saturday has someone typed in something along the lines of, "you sound like one of them" or "we're better than them" and then go on to blame the players for not being good enough?

That's two OFs this season there have been dodgy decisions against us and yet the beasts were still trotting out this mantra leading up to the game that we get favours from refs.

The reality is, as you say, the officials are scared (consciously or subconsciously) to give game changing decisions against them and it seems that if there's any doubt about a decision then the beggars get the benefit of it.

Thing is people would have placed bets on different results on Saturday from the 2-1 to sellick. So because of that a possible 2-2 draw was denied. I would argue there is a possible fraud implication

Mistakes will always be made but as long as the process is followed that is OK. Process is meant to cater for those.  Process was not followed here allegedly, could be incompetence, bias or attempted fraud.
