  1. Just read the sad news that Davie Provan has passed away, I remember wathching him in the wonderful team that included John Greig, Jim Baxter, Willie Henderson, Jimmy Miller and Ralph Brand. May you Rest In Peace and my thoughts go out today to your loved ones and friends.
  2. May you Rest In Peace sir, and may I may tribute to the wonderful work done by all the Rangers media team to make sure that the (old soldiers) from Erskine enjoy their days out at our beloved Ibrox.
  3. Well said fellow bear, could not have put it any better myself, ps that Dundee game I was also there am I right in saying that a certain Mr J Brown played for Dundee that day.
  4. Just read on club website about the sudden passing of Peter after a short illness, Peter was the welcoming face of our great club for guests who has the huge privilege of entering through the famous front door on match days. May you rest in peace Peter and our thoughts are very much with Jean and his son today.
  5. Wonderful gesture, well done to all involved. Like other posters I didn't know Ryan but for someone to leave his loved ones to watch his beloved Rangers and return home is simply tragic, may you rest in peace fellow bear and your mourning loved ones are very much in my thoughts and prayers.
  6. Just noticed on club website in the ticket information section that a ballot to be held for fans signed up for the above scheme, saying that it depends on previous attending for this tournament. Just wondering if any fellow bears can ever rememember this happening before? I can't.
  7. Just returned home from a night out and checked the result, as previous posts, well done Gordon, you are a hero. Enjoy being Olympic champion you deserve all the plaudits that may come your way.
  8. Just noticed that Gordon has won his way through to the wheelchair tennis final tomorrow where he plays a fellow Brit for the gold medal, another fantastic performance from a young man who is not afraid to tell the world that he supports the famous Glasgow Rangers. If only there were others who would do the same, good luck for the final young sir.
  9. Just noticed on club web page that they are doing 2 for 1 in the ibrox suite for the Ross County game, it works out at seventy quid each which is pretty good value for money for any bears who are having a day out.
  10. Had the good fortune to be at hospitaly for today match with my wife, we arrived a little early and stood waiting to go in the front door with quite a few others. Just before 10 30 4 of police Scotland's finest mounted branch appeared and in a very shall I say powerful voice a female officer barked at the assembled gathering to move back NOW!!!! Then another of her male colleagues also barked move back NOW. A friend who was standing very close by very politely and in a civil manner made the comment that it was a pity that they were not as proactive during the shambles that took place at hampden back in May, to which he was stared at by the said 4 and made to feel quite uneasy.
  11. Couldn't agree more regarding the rolls Royce club also the Neptune round the back on Clifford street, the reason we tried the hotel was that a friends dear dad collapsed and tragically passed away at the hotel before a home game last season and we thought we would try it.
  12. No stealth dear friend, just a satisfied customer that's all (the food was bloody good) never worked in a hotel in my life and as I am 64 I doubt if I ever will.??????
  13. Hi fellow Bears, regarding the above my wife and I called in to this hotel before the game on Saturday and enjoyed a lovely pre match meal. I got chatting to one of the staff who was telling me that they are doing a pre match hospitality deal a 3 course buffet plus a drink for twenty five quid and a one course sit down meal plus a drink for fifteen. I know there are quite a few bears frequent this hotel on match days so just thought I would pass this on, ps the food was excellent!!!! Cheers and here is to 55!!!!!!
  14. Sorry not for a minute condoning the drink driving bit ( had to deal with the aftermath of those things myself) I just felt sorry for the person having such a wonderful talent, but through his addiction is throwing it all away.
  15. Just noticed in a news article that Ray Wilkins was up in court on a drink driving charge and admitted that he had a serious alcohol problem, we hear about the great Gazza and his problems but I for one didn't know about Wilkins. It really is a great shame I had the pleasure of meeting him while he played for us and I honestly thought that he was a true gentleman (plus a pretty good midfielder) I for one wish him all the best in his ongoing battle with his demons.
  16. I blame this countries education system, for their utter inbred hatred for everything that we stand for.
  17. You beat me to it as in if carlberg did 12ths of July this would be the one!!!!!
  18. May I through Rangers Media wish all my fellow loyal Rangers fans the world over a very very happy and glorious 12th of July, have a great day everybody and as I have just finished a 12 hour shift I am raising a lovely brandy as a toast to you all as I type this.
  19. Wasn't it great!!!! Got to admit I was sitting in tears when he won it, truly inspirational
