Unless a miraculous upturn in form over the next three games, I wouldn't let Barisic near the Old firm game. We need someone with power and energy that's willing to run at them, so Bassey would be my choice on current form.

Barisic looks awful right now, and Bassey shouldn't have been dropped. Granted Bassey can't cross a ball as well but at least he takes players on and gets a cross in. Barisic either hits the defender directly in front of him or hits the first man in the box right now. Balogun should never start in front of Helander. Balogun may have more pace but Helander reads the game far better, and gets touch tight to the opposing forwards. Balogun loses his man constantly.

Kamara wasn't at it yesterday so we did miss a player like Jack, that can split up play and has a bit of dig. Lundstram was an empty Jersey, but hopefully he improves.

It was always going to be a hard one to take being beaten in the league after so long, but had to Come at some point I suppose. The lack of intensity/closing down from us yesterday though was poor. I'd rather see some continuity in our team rather than constant chopping and changing due to Europe. It's equally important we win the league this year with regards to the ECL reward at the end of it.

You nailed it with Hagi. Even though he has literally no pace, he has that ability in his locker to change a game. Actually a big miss from the side, and a player I like. Works his arse off closing down aswell.

I'm not saying otherwise and it's not an over reaction to the result. Barisic looks poor at this moment in time, plus he has never been out and out great defensively either, as Alot of wingbacks aren't these days.

I disagree, I think Bassey looks to beat a man more than Barisic tbh, his crossing isn't up to the same standard though, but all I've seen Barisic do is try hit a cross ball "through" the opposition player recently as he can't skin them.

When we are cruising games Barisic looks like a superstar, when we are up against it he is totally negative. Bassey has a bit of grit and determination about him, and impressed me in the games he played, even though it was pre-season. Shouldn't have been dropped. I'm a big Tav fan also, but his place shouldn't be guaranteed above Patterson, whom I rate highly. Tav is captain though so not so easy to drop.

Whilst I agree, players shouldn't be getting kept for fuck all. On the chance we don't get past Malmo, Gerrard has to realise winning the league should always be priority, especially this season when winning it means automatic qualification for the CL group stages. Stop fucking about with the team selection!

Fucking about with team selection due to Europe is a bad idea IMO. Play your strongest team If you look back at the 92/93 season, that Rangers team rarely changed, barring injuries (league & Europe) The only way you get consistency.

I Thought Bassey looked really strong and attack minded in the games he played, more positive than Barisic going fwd.
