What people forget is Clarke, and you could include mcinness and a long list of managers here, is an actual club manager. We are going down the route of a 1st team coach and a lot of managers won't want to work in those circumstances under a director of football. I think that setup may hamper us when we eventually go looking for a new guy. Still reckon Clarke would be the best man for us

I never said anything at the time as everyone was champing at the bit for murty as manager however I feel that we will be stuck in this rut until we appoint a proper experienced club manager. i believe given match time that john and murphy will offer us everything that tav and candeias offers on the right and can see murphy tracking back as well as candeias. when john and murphy click and they deliver the same amount of assists and goals from the left as we do the right then i think we will be a joy to watch and score a lot more goals than we presently do.

I don't think anyone realistically expects us to win the title by adding those 3 players, however it's a great start. Get rid of pena, Niko, herrera and Alves along with rossiter frees up as much as 70k+ a week in wages. If we manage to bag docherty before transfer window closes that's a solid core to the team. If we can then add guys like McLean on a free transfer as squad players we should realistically looking at only adding 2 or 3 players in the summer of genuine quality. Then we could seriously be genuine contenders for the title. I also think Murphy and Cummings can do for us what sinclair and dembele done for them as in taking an above average team to the next level. Those 2 players alone could well be the difference in those home games we dropped points in which case the league would look a lot closer than it is just now.
