1000 is pathetic. Guess the number of users here and on other forums is miniscule or do they all just mouth off?

1014 now, don't undersell it ;)

But i agree, the number of members not signing this is inane.

Its friggin diabolical. If King buys us and asks for fan support financially he will be lucky to get 100K.

Here's a thought - maybe the ones who aren't signing don't agree that their is an "apparent lack of support given by the Lloyds Banking Group to our Club." Or maybe they don't want to sign a petition with phrasing such as "We appeal to your commercial good sense (to the extent that such still exists within your discredited, 43\% state-owned company)" in it?

Just a thought.

Walter Smith seems to think there is. I'll support our manager thanks.

(to the extent that such still exists within your discredited, 43\% state-owned company)

Which bit do you disagree with:

- Lloyds aren't discredited; or

- Lloyds aren't 43% state-owned?

I don't really want to argue about it, I think it's generally a good initiative. Incidentally, I didn't say I didn't sign it. Anyway, to your points:

Walter said the bank were "running the club." He didn't say they were showing a lack of support. Very different things, imo. Also, Walter thinks playing Lee McCulloch every week is a good idea, do you support him in that?;

I don't disagree with either part of your second point, I didn't say I did. If you were writing a letter directly to Lloyds, would you phrase it like that? Maybe some people would prefer it phrased in a more constructive, professional manner? Slagging someone off in a letter to them isn't the way I would go about it, personally.

What would you prefer?

Dear Sir Lloyds, if you fine men could please find it in your strong, brilliant hearts to give money to our club, we'll all move our accounts to the mighty TSB. The credit crunch isn't your fault.

Lots of love, today, tomorrow, forever, Rangers. xx

Please consider helping our cause by signing the petition to Lloyds Banking Group. If you do not already know, The bankers are placing great pressure on Glasgow Rangers Football Club by not negotiating fairly with potential buyers in this current climate.

The FEAR is there may be job losses, Players sold and a genuine threat to the club at this time.

Please hit the banner or follow the link below and sign our petition.

We would greatly appreciate it

We had to bail out the bankers with tax payers money, please do not allow them to now squeeze our club after what they have done to our economy .

Yes. And it gets results. I remember writing to the UK Chairman of ntl in similar terms. My weeks old problem, that was apparently impossible to sort, was resolved the next day. Don't take any crap from these big businesses.

But then I'm just a grumpy old man. :D

I have no wish to argue about the petition, I think it's a good initiative, so I'm stepping out of the thread now. Good luck guys (tu)

Dont go mate - your input is just as valuable as everyone elses.

We cant all think the same and agree on everything.

Thats what makes the forum.

I'm going for the right reasons mate, I'm not storming off in the huff. I just don't want to detract from the aims of the petition by discussing how it should be worded. It's the intention that's important (tu)
