Ok so i usually can watch movies that are on my pc through my xbox with no problem but i was running out of space on the pc so i bought an external hard drive. It arrived this morning and i plugged it into my pc and everything is going fine. But i want to move everything from my pc onto the new hard drive and still be able to watch them on my 360. When i go onto the video bit on the 360 it has no directory to the external Hard drive so can i download somehting that will direct it to it? Cheer in advance ;).

need to make sure the Hard drive is formatted using FAT32 and not NTFS. Plug it into ur PC, make sure all the files are OFF the HDD that u want as formatting will wipe the drive, right click on the drive in My computer go to Format and format the drive in FAT file format. Then add ur files in again it'll take longer to transfer them over but it will work in ur 360 now (tu)

naw its plugged into my pc but i want to be able to watch it on the xbox like i used to. I used to keep the films on the pc then go into video library on the 360 and it would take me to the directory of my desktop>Other>films like on my pc and i would just select which film or song i wanted but now i want to put everything onto the external and then do the same thing to watch it on the pc but it wont show up on the 360 for whatever reason :(. And i dont have windows media center as one day it just magically dissapeared off my PC <cr>

Download TVersity, setup 3 folders called Movies, Music and Pictures in ur new HDD, transfer everything into them. Instructions in there http://forum.rangersmedia.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=125924 You setup those 3 folder you make are the shared folders and keeps everything tidy in ur PC and u can access anything u like (tu) Much faster streaming then Windows media centre aswell.
