hotmail virus

im sure many of you have had emails sent from people on your contact list, all the mail contains is a link to a viagra website

now im not daft and have never opened the link, just deleted the mail right away, well the otherday i noticed that my hotmail account and my missus hotmail account both sent out the same shite to all of our contacts,

but i havent a clue how we got the virus, so my question is, is the virus on our actual computer or in our hotmail accounts themselves?

i tried scanning my system with Super AntiSpyware, Malwarebytes, and avast, but nothing came up, apart from the usual tracking cookies

so whats next?

Think it's just your hotmail.

Same happened to me a few months ago. Sent out some random email about vibrators (swear it wasn't me! ) and deleted all my contacts. I looked it up and it just said it's someone hacked your hotmail to send their pishy emails and to change your password.

If all those scans you done came back clean and your computer is not showing any symptoms of infection then its probably just the Hotmail Account. You are being used by a "Bot" to send shit out. Just change your password and that should hopefully deal with it.

Its not a virus, Its basically found out your hotmail password and a bot accesses your account and sends out spam e-mails to all your contacts. Simply change your password and it wont do it anymore.
