Suspicious package posted to Cowdenbeath

Streets have been sealed off around Cowdenbeath Football Club after a supicious package was discovered.

Bomb disposal experts are understood to have been called to the club's Central Park stadium after police were alerted at 9am on Monday.

Fife Constabulary would not say how the package came to be at the club, but STV News understands it arrived in the post.

The force confirmed they were called out to reports of a suspicious package at Central Park, in the centre of the town.

On Monday afternoon police said they were no longer at the site but were still investigating the incident.

Cowdenbeath, whose chairman is Donald Findlay QC, were recently relegated to the second division of the Scottish Football League.

The club would not comment on Monday, saying it was a police matter.

Not sure if this has been posted up yet. Football is going mad.
